travelling away next season

whatever league we play in it is interesting i think to see the difference between the differnt leagues,traditionally the higher up the pyramid you would think it involves more travelling and the lower you go down less.

 

Its not always the case.This season in the southern league

we travelled 1,066 miles.

 

next season if we are relegated to any of the other leagues we will travel the following distances.

 

combined counties ave 450

 

spartan league 632

 

and the hellenic league a whopping 1,262 miles

 

Its easy to see why clubs are wanting to join the CC and hate the thought of the hellenic, puts more strain on the budget.

 

Which league is the easier to win, Oxford city 2 years ago wanted the spartan IIRC.

Firstly,

 

Can I offer my sympathy at your relegation.... I had hoped that we could both survive.

 

I know that we were looking at the Hellenic League rather than the CC as our preference if we had dropped.

 

My personal feeling is that the best league for you will be the Spartan League.

When Oxford City were relegated instead of us they won the Spartan League the following season.

Beaconsfield have won it after relegation last season and they were poor last season (Newport IOW poor).

 

I think it's your best chance of bouncing straight back up and maybe with you groundsharing at Beaconsfield that might help your cause if getting in there. Let's hope you do and it's 3 times a charm and you too can make a swift return to the Southern League.
