Is running our football club? Todays Thanet Times says Scott is transfer listed and Ryan Martin has been released. Mckimm didn't make these decisions so who is making the footballing decisions. I despair. MFC-gone to hell in a handcart and the way I feel they can go to hell.

Its getting like the premier league where every decision is money orientated and the idea that this is a sport has gone.It must have been all about money and if we cant afford a good experienced keeper who only needs a bit of help with crosses and dominating the box(surely Southall can do that)then it is a bit worrying.As for Ryan Martin he is a brilliant left winger who we really need next season and if Jacko stays then he must be moved to centre mid.I would have kept RM for his present and future potential and let JJ go if that choice had to be made.

I think either Piper or Page are running the transfer side of things at the moment and i'm very dissapointed to see Ryan Martin go and SCS put on the transfer list.

 

I hope we have replacements lined up, i'm already worried about next season and it's only been 3 days since the season finished

similarly surprised re: Martin as surely he was not one of the highest paid-but you never know the full circumstanes-washe struggling to get to training for example /was he upset at RT leaving ?There could be lots of reasons .

 

The sooner a manger is in place the better obviously

Last season SCS was seen as one of the best keepers in our division and we were in the envious position to have him and Charlie Mitten. This season for one reason or another he has not looked as sharp, maybe lack of competition or maybe an abysmal defence. However, why the hell, when we have an ex premiership goalkeeper on board at the club, have the club transfer listed him. Surely it would be advantageous to keep him on his past performances. Good keepers don't get worse without a reason.

On the other hand and from what i saw of him against Folkestone, I know of at least 2 local lads that are better and with Southall's training would do a good job on a fraction of the wage.

sss,if that is true then IMO the so called board DONT care where we will finish next year,players like JS and JJ,Pinns,MUST be offerd GOOD contracts to keep them at the GATE,players like that are the foundation of a team.

The key to me is the early appointment of a manager.

Realistically-no-one is likely to re-sign until they know who the next manager is-and every minute longer it takles to fill the role, the more doubt in platers minds and the more offers they will be tempted with from elsewhere.

 

imo the Board were absolutely right not to renew RT's contract, but for the little extra it would have cost, done it one month earlier

McKimm said in today's paper that interviews are currently taking place. Also he said KP is looking for experience. Good signs IMO.

I believe the four they want to stay will have been Jacko, Pinns, Jay and Macca. Though I have also heard Maidstone are after Jay (much closer to his home)!
