Mark44
its fine we will be good next year, i mean we will know we are ready with our big games against teams at our level and ohh no we have none, pres season looks crap im afraid. Im all for playing little teams to try new players but will they perform in our league. Its fine as long as they can perform against the mighty godalming eh
Matt
I feel as though I should point out that the 'mighty Godalming' are at the same level as us, and that's assuming we do actually stay up - so that's a bit of a silly remark. Pre-season isn't just about attracting "big" clubs anyway. We're not in a position to do that. We probably couldn't even get a friendly with Maidenhead with the position we're in. GlenW
to be honest if you look at teams at our level you will see our friendlies are very similar, as has been said friendlies are about trying out players and match fitness. maidenhead have a mixture of friendlies, they are playing aldershot town but they are also playing windsor and holyport. An example of how result wise friendlies are meaningless, last season burnham lost i think six of their seven friendlies they did win one at home to maidenhead(was johnson hippolyte bothered no) but burnham went on to have one of their best starts to the season in years, the manager used those matches to really assess the team, by the time the season got under way he knew what his team was going to be formations tactics etc. Dont take friendlies so seriously,They are only training sessions. BFR
Is the Bedfont friendly taking place at Stag Meadow?
A Rebel and a Saint
From what I see, there are 2 Bedfont teams in the CCL Premier, Bedfont who we are playing, and Bedfont Green who are groundsharing with Windsor.
BFR
My mistake. Cheers for putting me right ARRAS
GarySTFC
Stevenage Borough added in on the 5th. It will be a strong Stevenage side thanks to the contacts that Roy has with them.
Barry Scott
so we pay whatever for the priviledge of getting tonked 5 or 6 nil? Still, might time for remembering the home league game in 1998 where both us and the borough formed a bond over how much we both hated W*king
Mr Rebel
only the slough of old would go into that game expecting to get spanked. if it isnt there full first team i dont see why by then we wont have a decent enough side to give them a real good game. of course they will be expected to beat us they are a conference team and a good one at that. surely if Roy got the match through his contacts we wont be paying crazy money for the match anyway?? (i dont know would like to hope we aint anyway)
GarySTFC
The only payment will be for those who wish to attend. There's no fee to be paid to Stevenage.
GlenW
I get the feeling you cant win, and maybe a fair few people might qualify as grumpy old men.

Matt
Why would anyone get the idea we'd have to pay Stevenage for a game? It's not Chelsea!
Staines-upon-Thames Rebel
Not sure how many of the Stevenage 1st team will play as they will start their season properly on the following Saturday. Also on the 2nd they will have played Letyon Orient. They will also have played Peterborough, QPR and the wycombe scum as part of their warm up of 10 games not including us. Lets just keep things in perspective.
GarySTFC
SR - Let's also keep into perspective Roy's contacts at Stevenage. It won't be a full first team as as you rightly say, they start their season on the 9th, but it will be a strong XI which feature against us. GarySTFC
Anyway, surely it is better than hosting Neasden Foundation?
Chris
Might be an opportunity to get a few youngsters on loan from there as well if they impress in the game. emember Aldershot a few years back at Windsor with Alex Haddow, and look what happened there! Matt
I don't think you would have been able to get Neasden Foundation again anyway Gary - I think I read on one of the various TK forums that they've disbanded!
