Players' Awards Fiasco

Fiasco 1. Arranging the Club's announcements and presentations on the pitch so late that the game was delayed in starting and the players' minds were elsewhere. The players never got going until we were 2 down and even then they were slow to react and unable to prevent a third.

Fiasco 2. Denying the Fleet Trust, as had been arranged prior to the game, to announce the vote for the supporters' player of the season and present trophies and the raffle result on the pitch after the game while the players were still on the pitch. with respect to the Club's own choices, the supporters own choice is the major award and has been presented for more years than I care to remember. This shows total disrespect for the supporters who bother to turn up and support the team. The Trust were unable to announce the results in the Clubhouse as the Club had booked this out for a private function.

Fiasco 3. Would the supporter to whom Sacha handed "his" shirt after the game please return this as it was not the player's to give away. Sacha had torn his own shirt and the club did not have a replacement with his name and number upon it. Chris Pilkinton stepped in and kindly loaned his shirt with Opinel 3 on the back so that he could wear it. He had expected it to be returned! So whoever has this please do the right thing and return it to its rightful owner! I assume that the manager/kit man omitted to tell Sacha that it had been loaned which was pretty poor.

On the subject of PA's............

What the F**k was all that last night?

The normal bloke may sound like he is reading a train timetable at times

BUT

At least you can understand him and he knows when to shut up!

NEVER NEVER NEVER put a bloke in love with his own voice in charge of a microphone!

Don't know anything about Sacha's shirt but totally agree with you about the presentation farce at the beginning KMJ.

It went on longer than my bowling leagues' prize night and that is saying something!

Worst first half performance of the season. Am glad we made a fist of it after half time.

One eye on Wembley I think.

Also, I bought raffle tickets to win a season ticket for next year. Didn't hear the result of that.

Allstars is a lightweight. :-)

Andy Y, I think he was just trying to gee the crowd up a bit with his over the top announcements, good on him for trying but that sort of thing only tends to work in larger stadiums with Thousands of supporters. On the subject of yesterdays game, our lads seemed firmly focused on Wembley in the 1st half, they backed out of challenges, seemed disinterestd in the match and left all basic knowledge of defending in the dressing room, Liam obviously got at them at half time and the 2nd half display was much better, dissapointing end to the League season but I'm sure we will be coming back from Wembley with the Cup, lets hope the team get an open top bus parade to show off the Trophy smile

We're lucky the defeat was as light as it was if we didn't come out of the dressing room 'til the second half...

Couldn't agree more.. It was the last thing a proffessional team needed just before ko. i was hoping the new owners would bring a more proffessional approach to our ( what should be ) off the field activites.
My mate called it, and said at KO the team weren't focused and lo and behold 30 seconds later we're 1 down and completely knocked out of stride.

it was a shocker whoever decided that was a good idea.

Well the Fleet Trust's presentation was supposed to take place then (as agreed) but the Trust representatives were completely snubbed. The trophies ordered are expensive, well worth winning and paid for from Trust funds. Seems as if the management couldn't care less though. A sad day.
