Agreed, but I'd give a shared award to him and Jake Eastwood. I thought they were both excellent today.

Probably lacked a little penetration going forward and with respect, I guess we need to keep the performance in context with the opposition. But I dind't think anyone looked out of place which is encouraging.

Here's my belated take on the game :

Maybe it was the sun out and fact that it was end of term, but the whole mood seemed different.

Pre-match Skinner was doing work with the defence as a unit,Mckimm worked with the midfield-the whole pre-match routine seemd to have a purpose for once.

From the start-Mckimm from the sidelines was encouraging and advising.

Everyone played to their ability and as a team, played the simple ball-found their teammates and thus won the game-against a pretty poor Harrow side imo.

Having said that, could be argued that a draw would have been the 'right result' although i thought Margate had a bit more class.

I've always felt Margate had the quality-just needed to put it togewther-a bit late-but we saw that yesterday;and for that reason i hope the club keep most of this team together.

I particularly refer to the 'fringe players who there is alot more to come from;on yesterday-i refer to the likes of

Morris,Eastwood,Young and Josephs in particular.

My Mom would go to anyone of JJ,Eastwood and Josephs.

I was worried about JJ in midfield-but had an excellllent game there yesterday-on that performance-too much ability (and stamina still( to be isolated on the wing-bit of a surprise to me (wish he would stop taking free kicks though-he's not Beckham or Ronaldo i am afraid and wastes them.

Eastwood-another revelation-loooked as though Young and he had played together for years.

Eastwood actually attacked the ball-and thus Young did the same-worked well as a pair.Eastwood looked as though he had been doing the job for years

Morris-aways impresses me with his energy-turns up all over the place-defence/attack/midfield-a bit like Bryan Robson-quality can and will improve-but he was impressive with his energy.

Josephs-has always impressed me-i read he had a couple of average games-but did not put a foot wrong yesterday-i hope he is signed for next season.Really reallly good game imo

Bowles-a few saves/rode his luck a bit with them-but as Joseba says-very impressive on crosses-

I read SCS,Smith,Coleman,Peters are signed.

I believe the likes of Josephs,Young,Eastwood,Quain Morris,Corbishley should be added to that list-it would be hard to do better on the supposed reduced budget.

Add a sprinkling of the more senior players and get a manager who has at least half a clue what he/she is doing, and this team will be alright.

Quain and corbishly also did pretty good yesterday.

Pinnock ran his socks off and showed class.

Bit of a disjointed 'report',but hope it gives and idea of yesterdays performances-and again-mom-a tie between JJ,Josephs and Eastwood

Yes, Michael, Bowles and Eastwood did really well. I think what also helped was that it was a low-key game away from Hartsdown in front of a small crowd - no pressure. However, were I a Harrow fan I would be pretty worried about next season.

Interesting that their programme made reference to our budget as 'decent' (we signed Josephs from them). And Mr Piper seemed very upbeat...

Nice observations MM. You're right about Pinnock - I hadly mentioned him in my report on the web-site. But he looked - by some way to me - the most skillful player on the pitch. And I think your summary of the pluses from yesterday, those on contract for next season with the addition of one or two - Pinns, Jacko (can we hang on to them?), with the right structure behind them is spot on.

Agree with much of that.Thought the whole defence played well and whilst Eastwood should get credit as his debut I thought Young was just as good so I would add him to the possible mom.It was encouraging to see no doubt but do remember that Harrow havent scored for about a month and the pre-season feel probably helped the youngsters. Not taking any credit away though.

Is it just me-or is Josephs our 'un-noticed star.'

Rarely makes a mistake when i have seen him-cool and calm-just does his job with no fuss and is rarely caught out of position.

Hope he is signed for next season

I think he has been well below par in most games he has played. He makes errors frequently, and seems to be caught out of position a lot. He does seem to have the fitness levels and build to be successful, but does he have the mental toughness to succeed? The new manager will have to make a decision on him. I certainly would not want to throw a contract at him on what I've seen. Those who see him in training and can coach and help him will know better.

I'm with you on this one Porka. Despite his very promising start at the club, he has, on numerous occasions, been simply awful. Often out of position, it does not take long for the opposition to regularly point him out as the weakness in the team, and capitalise on it time and time again. Personally, I'm sure we must have someone at least as good as him (who, with first team experience will only get better) in the reserves.

Yep-did not put a foot wrong saturday-but as Buzz says-opposition were not up to much so maybe our whole defence flattered a bit.

But there have been plenty of similat occasions when against poor opposition, the defence looked rubbish.

It was pleasing to see Eastwood emerge as a 'defensive leader'

Yep-at this level-just knock it into row Z ,regroup and then defend against the next attack.

Defenders are there to defend-thou shalt not pass.

Having said that-i thought Eastwoods distribution was pretty good on saturday-we were knocking it across the back line with confidence (but as others post-Harrow were not exactly too much of a threat )
