Open Forum This Thursday

Recommended Posts

The last Open Forum of the season is being held in the clubhouse this Thursday (24th) from 8pm. This is where you can hear the latest news from CIFC, including a review of this season and the plans for the close season and the next campaign, whichever league we may be.

You can also take the opportunity to put your questions to the board.

Please make the effort to come along, as these meetings have a heavy influence on the way that the club is run.

Cheers,

Glen

Meeting went well last night, a healthy turnout of supporters as well.

To summarise:

- The clubhouse will be remodelled for next season. The bar will be changed so that it goes all the way along the car park end of the clubhouse. The current storeroom behind where the dart board is will be knocked out and made into part of the bar. A new storeroom will be built behind the clubhouse.

- The Burger Bar will be removed from behind the main stand due to it's poor location and the age of the unit. A new fully fitted kitchen will be built next to the club shop that can be used for food preparation on match days and for other occasions. This is subject to relevant grant applications being successful.

- Admission prices for next season will depend on what league we are playing in. There will be a change to the way the seating tickets are sold to avoid a steward having to do this.

- FA Compliance department wrote the club advising that they wanted to do a full check of all of our financial records to make sure everything was in order (standard procedure). All was absolutely fine thanks to Financial Director John Morris.

- 106 tickets sold for Tony Gale & Chopper Harris night, only another 30 left. Anyone wishing to go should get theirs asap.

- Batchy already looking at players to bring in for next season so that we improve even further next season, whichever division we may be in.

- Changes to the Reserve and Youth setups next season to make sure that the club forms stronger ties. The ambition is that the best players from CIFC Youth should have the opportunity to progress into the Reserves and then the First Team if they are good enough.

- Club will be open every Saturday during the close season, lots of jobs to be done. Anyone with some spare time is encouraged to come along and help out, no particular skills required as there will be something for everyone to do.

- Thanks to everybody who has volunteered in the various roles around the club to help the club operate as well as it does.

- Pre season friendlies being arranged, Southend Utd definitely bringing a side over again.
