Neville Southall Consortium Takeover?

Stocktaking Matt

Are you sure it is MFC that Southall is going to take over or is it only the Goalies shirt he is taking over. He may be getting on in years but i am certain he could still catch a ball unlike Scott Chalmers-Stevens. Last Saturdays game showed Scott C-S weakness 3 of Folkestoness goals were down to him and it's the same week in wek out.

Do some people never learn.

There is more to a running a football club than board room Shenanigans, EGM's and Developments. Most of the hard work to get a team on to the field goes on behind the scenes, by people who have not only have to deal with training , injuries, etc, also the sometimes fragile psychics of the players.

Character assassinations of players, especially the younger ones (Kent league level at best as his Smith) have a very negative effect. One of the guy's who played last night came close to quitting after he was slagged of on here and it took a lot of talking to get him to stay.

By the way KP as been waiting for you to introduce yourself for 2 years know.

"Why don't" you introduce yourself.

Bit like me saying Maradona only got to the level he played due to cheating and drug taking

What kind of comments did you have for the players we had that took us from Southern League Southern Section to the Conference
Collins only good enough for Kent League, Edwards overrated Sunday League at best??????????????????

Some players have an odd bad patch and the fans and on their backs constantly. True Scott and Louis were responsible for some of the goals conceded but then again without some of the stops they did our goals against would have been much higher.

Football is a team event and therefore a collective responsibility for the bad times

totally disagree seasidesteve. SCS has proved many times that he is a very good keeper and certainly one of better ones in this league. Yes he has had some poor games for us, as all keepers do, but he has more better games then worse games

As for Smith i think he has been our best defender this season when playing at centre back.

You should realise now Alex, he can only post negative comments on here. I agree with you both have had some poor games but for the majority of the season they have both done well IMO.

I think the criticism of SCS at times has been way over the top. Yes he has made some poor mistakes and I will be the first to agree that sometimes his catching and even distribtuion (especially following a backpasss) leave a lot to be desired, but a defender is only as good as the defence in front of them.

With a constant error producing defence SCS has probably had to work harder than many of the 'keepers in this league and has saved us on many an occasion. Even the best custodians will make mistakes when the back 4 are letting players through so regularly.

It is true scs has not been IMO as good this year as last, then it is only fair to say that the defence this year has not been as strong as last season. Despite my critiscism of SCS, i will put my hands up and say that a Goalie is only as good as the defence in front of him. As MFC for most of the season has not had a defence then i would agree SCS should be given another chance, with hopefully a new manager that will build a team with a defence to help him. After all MFC in the past have built their teams from the back.
