A good point earned and on reflection probably a fair result. Ryan Wharton barring one horrible clanger that should have resulted in a Bridgwater goal was excellent and the workrate of the team was phenomenal. Unfortunately despite our endeavour, we didn't test their keeper often enough as the shooting was pretty wayward. But all in all, a good point and excellent support for the long midweek trip, which the players and managemenr clearly appreciated.

Onto Saturday. Fleet need to win to ensure home advantage through the play-offs, but with the semi final a few days afterwards, it'll be interesting to see if they are as committed to the game as our players should be (and were against bridgwater)

Good result. Of course we wanted a win, but whatever happens now, we've at least taken it to the last game of the season - something which didn't look likely two weeks ago.

Was a tight game which was maybe expected as both sides needed the win and didn't give much away. Our efforts on goal were limited mostly to Daly headers though, and I only remember that one fantastic save from their keeper in the first half. We couldn't stamp our authority on the game as we could against Godalming and Newport.

I hope EVERY person who has supported the club over the past few years, and can make it to Fleet on Saturday, does so. There have been few bigger games or more exciting ends to a season for Slough Town.

very much an even game up until 20 minutes to go when Bridgwater absolutely battered us senseless, suddenly remembering that they needed a win. Once they were reduced to ten men we took control and could have nicked it at the end, but a draw was a fair result on the whole. Now only if we could have started playing like this a few months ago, we wouldn't be praying on Bracknell to slip up so we stay up

They might have battered us at the end, but we were in control in the first half. If only we could shoot straight!

Since the AFC Hayes game its actually been enjoyable watching Slough again, which is why i made the long trip and i wasn't disapointed. We outfought and out sang Bridgwater.

It's also great to see how much Roy Gumbs is enjoying playing for the club with his after match celebrations. This is a man who used to play for the Slough supporters with Chris Sliski (thankfully we haven't signed Chris on the books).

Fleet is such a massive game, we need as many supporters there as possible!

I think that on Saturday all we can do is get behind the team, no matter what happens in the match, or in the Bracknell match. The last few games have been good to watch there has been a definate improvement under Derek Sweetman, it may all prove to be too late but at least we have had something to shout about after a pretty disastrous season.

Come on the Rebels!

live up to our end of the deal get right behind the players and hope for the best. if we go down at least we have given it a right good fight and we can be proud of the team for their performances in the last 3 or 4 weeks

as someone said on here previously if only Roy Gumbs had been given a chance at Slough in the past. you can clearly see he loves playing for his hometown

Just looking at anothers site Tuesday's point could be all important as our stuation now reads:

Quote:
in the 6x22 scenario, the four 21st placed teams in SL and IL (Horsham YMCA, Slough Town, Ilford & Berkhamsted Town) together with the 22nd placed team with the best points per game record (Wivenhoe Town) will be reprieved. In the 4x22 + 2x20 division scenario only the 21st team with the best points per game record (Slough Town) will be reprieved.

With the second scenario all the teams apart from Ilford not could match our points tally. Ilford could, but our point Tuesday now means they can catch us on points, but our goal difference is a lot, lot better.

But lets not hope for this as this is just a guess from Tony's site. We must do the job Saturday as it is still likely we could be relegated as this is purely guesswork on his site.
