Tonight's match

Apologies for introducing a football topic amid all the side issues on the forum at present, but the Fleet are actually playing a game tonight! It will be interesting to learn who Liam choses in the starting line-up. If we field a strong team I expect this to be a close game given that FGR are presently only one place above us. Any thoughts?

Liam wants all the points he can get, but at the same time doesn't want any unwanted injuries. Doubtless he will ring a few changes to protect the more venerable (or vunerable) amongst the team, and also those most vital to playing at Wembley. I would go for

Mott

Hawkins Smith McDonald Opinel

Moore Hearn Bostwick Purcell

Akinde Eribenne

Subs

Cronin

Ricketts

Long

Barratt

Nade.

And no, I haven't forgotten about Macca. From reports I have heard, he is finding 2 games a week hard work, as age catches up with him. Play him against Oxford, then he has a 2 week break before the final.

Could Wembley be his swansong?

Can't think of a better way to end an illustrious career than lifting the trophy at Wembley.

Everything after that will be an anti-climax.

Seeing as Nade isn't rated highly, why not start him and give Big John 20-30 minutes at the end ?

It would ( or should that be will ?) be interesting to see the line up for the Oxford game, as it is the last home game of the season. Perhaps Liam will opt for a much changed side this evening and give most "first choicers" a bit of a run Saturday ?

Then we'll have two weeks off to get everyone in prime shape ( even me !)

Cheers,

The only ones he has to worry about on that score are those on 13 or 14 yellows.

Put Liam Coleman in, I think he is starting to forget what a pitch looks like.

He really has lost his edge this year, been brought on for a couple of games and f*cked it.

Oh well, I hate to say it, but he will not be one of the players I would missed come the end of the season/start of the friendlies.
