....is, COULD IT BE JIM?

Jim Ward could yet be the new manager of Margate it goes on to say. The man himself and Blues chairman Malcolm Rowlett won't rule it out. Although it does go on further in the article to suggest maybe Ward is having fun with the press on this one. Also reports that Trotty sent a good luck message to the team Saturday, Mckimm far from happy with the defence (you don't say).

Confirms our contracted players for next season are Ryan Peters, SCS, Luke Coleman and Louis Smith which in my opinion is a marvellous base of young talent for a new manager to work from so at least a plus positive there.

On the subject of The Thanet Times (a wonderful paper that could rival The Guardian for quality content-ahem!) whatever happened to the best bit in it-which was the bright orange slapper barmaid on page three that they used to drag out from some godforsaken dive of a Thanet pub. That's the article I miss.

Jim Ward could yet be the new manager of Margate. The odds may be stacked against Ward succeeding sacked Robin Trott but the Rams boss won't rule himself out of the race - and nor will Blues chairman Malcolm Rowlett.

Chances are Ward is having fun with the press and just enjoying his name being linked with Hartsdown Park after guiding Rams to the verge of the Ryman Premier play-offs.

Ward brought up the subject on Monday morning by asking if we'd heard any news on a replacement for Trott, who was sacked on Wednesday.

On whether he would do the job, the Scot simply said: "I don't know, I've not been asked."

There is no doubt Ward would fit the bill.

Used to working to a budget, the Scot has done a tremendous job nurturing local talent - the very route Margate are looking to take.

Rams chairman Richard Lawson thinks the chances of Ward leaving Southwood for Hartsdown Park are "absolutely zero". Blues chief Rowlett confirmed Ward hadn't been approached and says there is nobody in the frame to replace Trott.

He added: "I hadn't even thought about Jim. I would have thought he's most probably very happy with how things are going at Ramsgate.

"He always seems very happy whenever I've bumped into him in the cafe.

"He hasn't been a consideration but I wouldn't rule anyone out at the moment. There will be more meetings this week but we have nobody in mind."
