Is there any need for the Bitterness in the Farnborough match report??

 

Comments like.....

 

"Farnborough on the other hand, were promoted as champions as a result, but their performance was one far from what is expected of title contenders"

 

Also

 

"Farnborough, on the other hand, with 9 changes from the side that the Royalists knocked out of the trophy earlier in the season, were left to celebrate buying themselves back into the Premier division"

 

I thought it was a good game between 2 good sides, would whoever wrote the report have been happier if Farnborough had played us off the park and stuffed us 4-0??

 

As for the comment about them buying the title, that's a bit harsh seeing as they get (by some distance) the largest crowds in league, its inevitable they are going to have more money than everyone else, what do you purpose they do with it? Play another season in the SW division just for the sake of it??

Sounded like sour grapes to us to be honest.

 

We arent that bothered, but then why should we.

 

We are sorry your not going to get promoted, but at the end of the day as possible moment of madness has cost the individual who wrote that their integrity. Im am also sorry for the fans of Windsor who do not share the views of the said webmaster and are having an unfair representation of their club put on them.

Having just looked on the farnborough forum perhaps they are over-reacting abit like ballboy has. We all make stupid statements in the heat of the moment and we all know ballboy is one of the worst for that!!

 

I'm sure if he actually thinks he will realise it's VERY OTT and certainly not representive of the club.

 

Congrats to farnborough and good luck next season. Apart from when we dump you out the trophy and/or cup!!!

thank you for that woody, as noted the apology is on the other forum and ive spoken to malcolm about removing the two comments in question. in the heat of the moment on saturday and my frustrations at not getting the result i made those comments. unfortunately i cant edit it now and its up to malcolm to remove the comments. matt

I agree totally with 'Mrs Cat' Matt there was no need for comments like that. But thank you for the apology. For my opinion, for what it's worth, I thought just like the Trophy game it was a pretty even game between two good sides. On reflection they created more 'goalscoring' chances than us and a draw was a very result. Of course it's difficult because the result meant we have missed out on the play offs, but at the end of the day a draw was a fair result. Farnborough are worthy winners of the league, and I, personally, wish them all the best for next season. Matt, what you should remember with your 'buying' the title comment, they have been through very tough times in recent seasons. Their club in effect went out of business. They have started up again, got a very good structure in place and have reaped the rewards, I don't think any club who have suffered what they have done in recent seasons would throw money away. They attract very large crowds, over 800 on Saturday, and have a very active commerical department, judging by their programme, so inevitably they may have a slightly bigger budget but that doesn't mean they have bought the title. Sorry if this sounds like a rant Matt, but too many times people like to find excuses. A league table doesn't lie, a team finishes where they deserve to finish and the fact we have finished outside of the play offs means we haven't done enough over the whole season to be in the play offs, which when you break the season down, particularly at the start and before Christmas, we haven't. In a closing message to Farnborough and their supporters I have asked our webmaster to update the site asap - although be warned it took over a week for the Abingdon report to go up :-) - congratulations on your title and all the best for next season.

Poor first half and a good second half. The boro deserved to draw level and windsor got better after that.

In the end a draw was a far result.

Congrats to the boro on winning the league. Just glad it wasn't Fleet.
