Todays game

Not much to note, except we played a bit too narrow for my liking, and if we repeat that at Wembley, we will come unstuck.

Best laugh was with the tiresome oik of a jobsworthy steward. I was discussing cameras with Riverview Supporter, when said steward intervened, and tried( unsuccessfully ) to get me to delete my only practice picture (of the Alty keeper picking his nose). He went on that cameras were not allowed at the ground. I told him they were allowed at Wembley, so should be ok here. The silly little fool went away.

Either this has come from the Board (Will Brooks?) or po-face made up the rule himself.

I have seen nowhere in the ground or in any programme notes that photography for your own use is not permitted. For professional publication, I can understand, but for God's sake I was only practicing for the big match!!

I suppose it's a good thing he didn't try to seize (steal) my camera, as I would have considered that an assault and defended myself will full vigour!! As he was about 5'2",about 7 stone and with a brain the size of a walnut, my daughter could have decked him!

Who DOES employ these lame brains?

Why CAN'T they show just a tiny bit of common sense!!

Hopefully Riverview Supporter will corroborate my story.

I just dont get it. One guy had a full camera with lens and everything and stood two yard in front of you but they didnt say anything to him. That may be because the steward near him was the only one who looked respectable today and was polite when I spoke to him after the game.

I would like to know what these guys do full time. I assume he is SIA licenced , and if he is , his attitude of "If you dont put it away ill chuck you out" in a wallce park type accent was abysmal. He could give no reason why pictures couldnt be taken.

Saying that in his defence , he was allowed to be `ard cos he had an orange vest on.

Now its a shame Still No Idea has died as that pic would have been great on the cover.

Next week , I am going to try and take a picture of someone taking a picture. Anyone wishing to photo me doing that is welcomed. Maybe we should all congregate near the tea hut and snap away together. "talk to the camera sacha"

Paradoxically, in the glossy March to the Arch magazine, Will Brooks talks a good deal about the great You Tube video (shot by York Fox) at Aldershot. According to the numpty stewards at Fleet, York Fox would be denied it's use.

Can either MYFC, the EU board, the MYFC board, Brian K, the Chief Steward or the Safety Officer definitively answer once and for all whether small digital cameras are allowed in Stonebridge Road, for the owner's own personal use?

If they cannot, a reason would be helpful.

If they are allowed, perhaps it might be a good idea to actually spend a bit of time telling the stewards that fact. And I will carry a copy of that statement and shove it up Jobsworthy's nose next time!

PS Brian, the picture is VERY funny!!

And I have no intention to either Les. Even more so having been laughingly "told off and severely repremanded" by a half wit in a reflective yellow for the first time in 41 years.

Of course, every club has it's village idiot, we dress ours in yellow jerkins!!

It's a sad state of affairs when all around, including a member of the trust are laughing at nonsense decisions from the stewards.

I dropped my 50/50 tickets in the bin. Got an evil glare just for doing that from dung brain. Was rather hoping he was going to "try to rough me up"!! 5 years as a personal safety and self defence instructor might have come in handy. I know pressure points you won't believe!! Would have had him shreiking in agony in 2 seconds!

And Burton away, Exeter away, Aldershot away, Exeter at home, Ramsgate at home in KSC and Leyton Orient v Bristol Rovers in the FA Cup back in November.

For the Weymouth home game in the Trophy I was told that I could use it and so brought it along for that game but at the next game I was told after that that I wasn't allowed to use it due to a new rule from the Conference so every club was sent a letter telling them so. I then spoke to Michael, the head steward who told me that I have to fill out some form and have my name put on a "safe list".

I haven't done it yet but I haven't taken any pictures either. I was hoping to get that done today all ready for next season but I didn't see Michael. I'll hopefully get it done for the Oxford match.

I took my camera to the Kiddy match where the steward greeted me at the gate and said I wasn't allowed to use it. I then told him that I had trouble all over the place and now had my name put on a list with our club, he asked if I had it with me and I said that I thought I didn't need it. I obviously lied but I really wanted to practice night time shooting and it wasn't as if I was going to do any harm and the list was just a formality.

My advice to you Gary is get your name on the safe list and then ask the club what you're allowed to do. Writing to the Conference can't do any harm either. Then if you take any pictures away from Stonebridge Road just get permission first. Any club is bound by the laws of the league they play in. So for example Dartford will next season be in the Ryman Premier League so for any competition they play they will be bound by .the rules of that league, thus me not allowed to take pics of the Kent Senior Cup v Ramsgate.

Wembley you won't have any trouble with though.

Thanx for the advice, Paul. What relly annoyed us was a) his chavvy attitude, and B) his obvious lack of knowledge of the ground regulations.

He simply would not accept that I had no interest in taking pictures at Fleet, but was demonstrating the zoom capability before the big game.

Not sure what would have happened if I had let him 'take it off me' as he wanted - I don't suppose he had an official EUFC receipt book, or more probably, the abilty to write in it. Luckily with a dozen or so laughing at him, he cut his losses and moved on.
