I personally havn't changed my mind but it emphasised the fact that whoever wins it deserves it!

Vinny, Chris Moore and Jamie have all been inspired signings but they havn't been here the majority of the season so I think it would be only fair to give it to Jonah, Joppo or Gooding etc. No one has really mentioned Chris Moore too much but I think that he has been as good a signing as Vinny without doubt.

Vote for who you want mate. I wouldn't be disappointed if any of the players you mentioned won, all have been instrumental in our push for promotion. Speaking personally though, I made my decision on what has gone on over the whole season. Don't get me wrong, the lads you mention have been absolutely brilliant for us, but like I say its the whole season, August to May that I am looking it. Whatever your view though, it ain't an easy one to call, with so many quality players at the club. Anyway, my money would be on Jonah to win it, he got my vote at least!

 

Anyone know when the award will be announced?

well.....it was going to be at the players dinner and dance when the other awards will be made.......but

 

after a conversation with Maxhinio on Monday morning it was mooted that it should be done in front of the fans at the last home game..........

 

my concern is that if we slip up..(no.... I'm not being negative...just realistic)....its a bit of an anti climax......

Surely it has to be in front of the fans and at the Romford game or at the Thameside Semi-Final.

In front of the fans at the end of the Berkhamsted game. The way I see it, even if we were to slip up against Berkhamsted or even worse still, miss out on promotion, the player of the year award would still be given out. It ain't tempting fate or anything, its simply giving credit to who the fans voted for as being our best player of the season. Lets face it, even clubs that are relegated have player of the season awards!

 

Make an announcement before the game that the award will be given out at the end of the game, so that not everyone clears off right after the game and give it out then. Hopefully, there will be a decent crowd over there on Saturday anyway.

Has to be next Sat after the Berkhamsted game. Like Lord says, should be a decent crowd in for that, if the Recorder bothers to say anything nice about us and makes it clear that we need just one win to get promoted, should get a few more than usual over.

I agree it has to be infront of the fans as it is the FANS player of the season, next week or the game against Romford that is my view anyway !

 

Ps I dont trust the Recorder to do anything for us!

Yeah, totally agree. Saturday is my vote too. IF we win, it would be the perfect setting. And even if we don't, it is usual at most league clubs to make the presentation at the final home league game.

Agree that the supporters player should be announced in front of the fansbut would it not be better at the Romford game. Reasoning - Saturdays game will be fully charged but take the two senarios 1) we get promoted - won't the celebrations take the shine off the award for supporters player of the year? 2) if we don't get the result we want the will the boys be down a bit and that might take the shine off the award.

Let the league unfold and make the award at the Romford game. There will be a party type mood so whatever we do it will make it for the winner of the award - Just a thought !

Good Points!

We all seem to think it should be done in front of the fans instead of just the board, players and wives. Another Bonus could be that it might bring in a few more fans to the Romford match( i am not guaranteeing it but U never know)
