Well, just got back and I think that game sums up our season, having gone from 3-1 up to fall to a 5-4 loss. So frustrating that we did the hard work to get in a winning position, then we go and lose it!

I must say though that our second goal by Saunders was a wonderful strike from outside the area having seen the goalkeeper off his line.

The only small consolation I got from the game was that the Folkestone fans around me were saying how it was their best performances of the season.

I did not stay for the after-match presentations so someone else will have to report who won what!

i certainly didnt stay for presentations either i and i didnt applaud the team they didnt deserve it there is no excuse in leaking 5 goals at home to a side that, lets face it, shouldnt have had a chance but am pleased for folkestone they deserved it more only prob is there last game is against maidstone and loser goes down i think?? is pity. Today i was truly embarrassed to be a margate fan this totally summed up our season. When we were 3-1 up a bloke in front said to his mate folkestone will win 4-3 and boy was he right maybe not on the scoreline but on the result, i hate to say it but our club is falling to pieces and hartsdown park for me this season has been very depressing. Major changes needed for next campaign, and dont quote me but radio kent on way home think that rams have moved into pay offs. OH DEAR OH DEAR!!

Ramsgate have pretty much pinpointed our demise and i firmly believe we will carry on going backwards.

 

I think Piper was misquoted when it said in the local paper a little while ago that we have the potential to be football league, i think Piper meant that we have the potential to be kent league

Well, look on the bright side. It will be infinitely worse next season, so we will all be able to moan a lot more.

 

But if losing today helps Folkestone stay up, I, for one, will be content. It wasn't as if we could have finished anywhere in the league but in the place we were predicting at the start of the season was it?

Apologies once again for the lack of commentary but I did try to get it working!!! When I left my house I had finally got it all sorted but then it did not work at the ground.

If it is any consolation there were no tannoy announcements at the ground due to the mike dying so you weren't the onjly one left in the dark!

I am sure Wellsie smashes things up when he knows he is going to be away!!

Agree with second paragraph.

Maybe first para is tongue in cheek /maybe not .

If not-what am i missing here-why will it necessarily be worse next season.

I am not expecting a play-off position again next season, but surely-we may just have a manager who is not moribund and has a small clue as to what he (or she ) is doing and certainly what he/she is saying

Incredible; the last 3 matches we have scored 13 and conceded 11! You can't say we don't provide entertainment! Please can we get a defence for next season though. Dartford and Dover coming up and maybe Folkestone staying up now so will be like a premier Kent league next season. Just hope Ramsgate and Tonbridge stay down (no offence!)
