A topical subject, seeing as we are now run by the fans for the fans, but how about treating those older ( no offence !) fans that have been watching regularly for 40 or 50 plus years, through thick, thin & thinner ?

The club must have records of these stalwart season ticket holders ? Good & bad players come and go, but the true fan is always there ( even if he/she does moan !)

Just a thought !

Cheers,

No disrespect to the new members, but they have no knowledge or sense of history for the club. I don't hold that against them, and welcome them with open arms.

Hopefully, this will give them an insight into belonging to a club that for nearly 50 years has flattered to deceive, and largely underperformed. Amongst the poor times, there were many shining lights such as those players, managers and others associated with the club we have listed who cheered us in those dark days. But dreams of Wembley finals, full time, almost Football league status, new ground, were just dreams. Those few have played their part in slowly building Fleet into what it is today, a club with a history of being also rans, tinpot and the poor relation, but are now on the verge of something very special.

MyFC now sort out the first page of the programme. I was thinking about asking my dads ex workmate Dave if he was up for doing it one match.

I think he first went in 1946 or something. Don't know if he was Gravesend or Northfleet though. He sits just in front of us and must be a season ticket holder.

You take it easy with all this thinking, you will be taking up dangerous sports next. Like pitch diving, wall demolition etc grin
