Must admit i did have a laugh reading Weatherlys comments laugh "there's protential to have a team made up of entirely local players inside two years" Sorry it just wont happen.

Its to big a step up, reserves to Ryman prem.

Ramsgate have been lucky, most of our locals worked their way up from kent league, ryman south and then prem, improving each season.

You might wean a few locals into your team but not a entire team, If that happens your be playing Kent League.

ps To have any chance you MUST get the training back at pansdown

Reading Marks comments I agree that there is tallented footballers in the sunday leagues. They must be intergrated into an experienced core of players to help them improve at Margate FC. Any new manager should be fairly local and should look around the local leagues and introduce them into the reserves. Bring them on from the reserves and feed them into the first team in time. Back to basics for Margate FC. I'd like to see Lever on the board and understand why he feels he should be on it but now is not the time under current circumstances with the directors.

Keith Piper must go. I appreciate that he's put alot in to the club but his time has come. I feel Lever should be on the board but not all the time Piper is on it, as he would then pull the strings with the majority vote and to be honest I blame him for alot of this mess in bad accounting (as companies house obviously indicates ) and the ground.

These changes must be put in place.

I'd like to see Wevs as the director of football and someone local as manager of good stature but who will work with him. I want to see Neville Southall as goalkeeping coach right through from the youth teams to the First team.

If this doesn't happen and/or the worst happens and it all goes to the dogs I think its time a new Margate FC were formed in the Kent County League. I never thought i'd say that but is it the only way forward for those that are passionate about local football!!!

A few mixed messages from the club if the I of T is reporting correctly :

It seems the directors are saying that youth and local players are the future-yet gave the most significant reason for trott contract not being renewed as 'no confidence that he can develop a side to reach the play-offs'.

Now those are not exactly directly contradictory-but pretty close to it just the same. Youth and local players will not get us to the play-offs-yet the board says thats what they want-interesting.

(mind you-whatever mixed message that gives-still imo the right decision re:Trott -and from reading the forum posts-only 2/3 people who seem to think it was the wrong decision-and even then only muted tears )

I am bemused that MFC now sees the need for a 'director of football'. So funds are short-yet there will be a manager and a director of football !!Whats that about. It does not work at premiership level -so how the heck will it work at Ryman premiership level.

Lets get real here chaps.Much better to get the best manager you can afford (Kevin Hales)-just one person -and let them do a fantastic job. A winning manager-who makes sensible public statements (not the RT -we're gonna bash 'em variety )will get the crowds back.
