To be fair Hirsty, Ronaldo's inconsistent. He'll only get thirty goals next year, compared to his forty-odd this season. Who wants that sort of sketchy form in their squad?

I thought their striker David MCniven looked pacy and pretty good on the ball, He looks in the charlie mac mould, he could do a pretty decent job for us up front working off Akindes flick ons, I think he got a hat trick against us last year for Stafford at their place.

Hand on heart Hirsty, are you saying that you wouldn't replace Moore, Purcell etc if a more consistent goalscorer were available? As I have posted previously, it is unfair to these players to try and score lots of goals when they aren't really out and out strikers.

Now we are awash with cash, we CAN strengthen the team, subject to votes of approval of course. This would not be until close season though ( providing the vote results are announced slightly quicker than those in Zimbabwe to enable the said players to be purchased, if required !!!!).

 

Therefore, like it or not, we have to stick by those who, on the whole, have served us well this season.

 

Many games in few days does not do us any favours currently, especially with a small squad & no reserve team football.

 

So, hand on heart, let's give it the big one for the rest of the season !! What's the point of criticising players at this point ? Let's finish the league season as well as possible with Liam shuffling his pack as well as he can do to obtain maximum match fit squad to choose from on May 10.

It is going to be so interesting when Liam wants to bring in new players. If he has to ask the MYfc board first, and they have to hold a vote, won't that put that players name in the public domain, and allow other Clubs to jump in first?

That could mean that Liam ends up with(substandard)players nobody else wants!

I remember seeing this topic addressed somewhere and the general idea at that time is that Liam would tell us some basic information about his targets without revealing identity and then MyFC would vote, presumably to rubberstamp his selection within a certain price range. The actual contract negotiations were supposed to be conducted by the yet-to-be-named CEO. Who knows if that's how it will really happen. There's so much uncertainty, but somehow I'm convinced it's all going to work itself out if the vocal maniacs on the MyFC forum will just have a little patience. Despite all the wacky rhetoric I've seen there, I've yet to disagree with the result of any actual votes, so I'm beginning to think the forum is irrelevant and the articles, votes, and official communications are all that are worth reading over there.
