Dean,Stuart,Charlie-help us out tonight

We really need Carlshalton to win at Ashford tonight to keep our very faint play-off hopes going.

In reality, a carlshalton win makes Ramsgate an even better bet for the fifth slot, but does also just keep our own hopes alive and ensures it goes to last day of the season.

C'mon Carlshalton and the MARGATE THREE

Whilst we do still have a mathematical chance of that last spot Michael the odds are very much against it happening even if we were to win our last two games, therefore I will side with the home team on this one(for obvious reasons). We need a miracle in reality with "lots" of results going our way,not just the one,as well as us winning "both" our games.

Sorry for being defeatest, unlike yourself, who is surprisingly being optimistic on this one. wink Good on you,but its Ashford for me.

They tend to come out firing on all cylinders in most games so I expect a very early goal from them tonight, though Carshalton I'm sure will give their all.I think Ashford would be pretty sick should they fail to get all 3 points tonight though.

Having said all that you never can tell what results are going to be like at this time in the season.

Possible points

Ashford 69

Tonbridge Angels 68

Hendon 68

Ramsgate 68

Margate 65

Horsham 65

Games to play

ASHFORD

Ashford v Carshalton

Ashford v Chelmsford

East Thurrock v Ashford

HENDON

Hendon v Wealdstone

Staines v Hendon

TONBRIDGE ANGELS

Tonbridge Angels v AFC Hornchurch

Carshalton v Tonbridge Angels

RAMSGATE

Hastings v Ramsgate

Ramsgate v Boreham Wood

MARGATE

Margate v Folkestone Invicta

Harrow v Margate

HORSHAM

Horsham v Billericay

Heybridge Swifts v Horsham

Carlshalton need the win to stave off relegation so should be a good game.

A bit like us-Carlsharlton seem strong on paper but have not got the results ( i think i put them top half in my prediction league-got that one wrong !! )

Deep down, you cling on to the dream.

maybe we will beat Folkestone and win 8-0 at Harrow.

Who remebers Stalybridge-last game of season a few years ago and we won 8-0

So many 'if only's' this season

Seems just 65/66 points will get 5th slot -amazing

Yeah, that goal difference could well be our downfall, not just for the play-off spot but for another reason too.

When you consider how inconsistent we have been, coupled with those idiotic defeats when we were coasting & in total command,we have done remarkably well to have finished so close to getting not just the one but "both" spots.

Maybe 3rd time lucky next season eh?

Chelmsford on the opening day we conceded a late goal, away to East Thurrock United we missed a penalty at 1-0 down, Hendon at Home missed a penalty at 1-0 down, Maidstone United at home, Hastings at home, Hendon away late Jimmy Jackson open goal miss, Wealdstone at home 2-0 up, Harlow at home... frown

In total, 19pts dropped, we'd be second.

You may have dropped points, but you also had a very soft penalty awarded to you at the very end of our match that gave you 3 pts, same for us at home to Folkestone. I agree with Margateshot, you needed to win the games you drew. We won our last two by narrow margins and now are almost guaranteed a play-off spot.

I don't think the real deep seated commitment, vision, drive, energy and will was ever there to grab a play off place this season.

I think that applies to manager, directors and probably many supporters(myself included )

All things considered , (and there are many of them)it may not be a bad thing to stay in the Ryman for next season imo.

Just all been a bit uninspiring all round this season.(i suspect many feel the same and hence the large and worrying decline in attendances under the current regime )

despite the many faux pas results where we threw it away, i think our final league position of 7/8th is ok (less said about the cup failures the better ),but its all been so uninspiring and predictable for me this season.

You know before every game we will concede at least two, so its just a question of if we can score three goals every game.

Just hope that whoever is manager next season-be it RT or a.n. other-can show real commitment to the cause-starting with a decent summer build up and sorting a balanced squad
