margateshot
I cant believe the scaremongering going on on this forum. Nobody really knows what is happening and spreading rumours doesn't help. JJ claims to be a concerned supporter yet starts this thread himself after recieving the information. Just because an EGM has been called is not bad news. It means that something that needs to be dealt with at the AGM is too important to wait for the next one, so an EGM is called. The original three directors may have been voted onto the board at the last AGM. If new directors want to come onto the board they can still work for the club and then be officially voted on at the AGM. With the the ground improvements due to start shortly then the club may have to have all the directors voted onto the board for the oproject to move forward. Also, to question whether gary Lever should be on the board because of a conflict of interest is ludicrous. What is his conflict of interest if he is funding the project? Wellsie
In fairness, JJ is just expressing concern which I know is shared by other shareholders. Of course all that concern doesn't mean that everything is about to go t*ts up. You're certainly right that most people don't really know what's happening and it could all turn out to be OK. But I'm not sure rumours are being spread, just concerns expressed - which may be put to bed at the end of the month.
MargateFan
Is it that time of year already? This sort of thing does not normally start until the beginning of May.

I think the conflict of interest arises from wearing 2 potentially competing hats at the same time. GLs hard aht that says his cvompany should make the most out of the development and MFC as possible..And GLs soft hat which is as a director he should be loyal to margate and be negotiating to get the best deal from the developers. Is the Earls court address a real office or a "managed" post box office?

JeremyJacobs
Cookie The 5-a-sides and the sacking of Robin Trott,in my view, are not as important as other off-field matters.
