Billericay 2 - Canvey 1

Recommended Posts

Okay, I haven't been on here for sometime despite seeing us win our last two games but I have got to say praise has to go to Gary Calder and the team for our past couple of performances.

Well I didn't think we could do it but the faithful few said we could and we did. Maybe not the prettiest of all performances but the result stands and I am not taking it away from the lads. They worked hard (again), applied themselves well, kept their heads up even when Canvey scored the equaliser. Against the Canvey and the officials (who were so shocking I had my doubts that they were neutral!!!), we did well. And what a couple of goals by Gary Ansell. Out of the top locker!!!

Congrats to Gary Clader and his management team. They have worked wonders with the lads.

I would like to put a suggestion for man of the match but that is a difficult one. All 11 deserve it. Gary Ansell for his goals and his running, Chris Stowe for his tireless running up front, Russell and Ollie holding the defence solid, JJ's performance was as good as it has ever got (great save from a free kick) but for meDanny Snowshill gets the vote. Set up Stowie for the cross that led to the first goal, worked bloody hard in midfield, tackled, the lot.

Well done to all. The team and the management.

PS - Nice to talk about football and not about "our troubles" for once.

GET IN THERE!!!!!! What a fantastic result! The blues played well, Canvey had some not bad chances but because of our splendid defence and goalkeeping we got the win! What strike by Ansell!

I think the two men of the match were Gary Ansell, with his two great goals and JJ with his great goalkeeping. Well done lads! People who didn't go to the game, you missed one hell of a treat!

what a great performnace everyone worked their socks off

does anyone if chris stowe is contracted to hornchurch

asi if hes not we should get in their and make an offer before anyone else does

he might be a bit of a hog with an inability to pass the ball but when you dribble like that who cares

he was great today along with pretty much everyone else

have to say man of the match should be shared between

ollie, jj, stowey, ansell

we have to start gettting players putting pen to paper for next year

have to say thats been our best result since beating

boretree 4-0 in the cup

we all follow onto victory at grays

Can only echo what's been said above - we wanted it more than them and got what we deserved. The two goals were both well worked but would pick the first for a possible goal of the season because the build up was excellent - the cross was Stowe's first pass for 3 games <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> We've shown over the past few games that if we keep working the rewards will come and with 3 wins out of 3 they have!

Come on the Bluuueeesss!!!!

superb result and like everyone else has said, all the lads worked their socks off. Canvey certainly didnt look better than us today and we deserved our result.

As Gazza said praise should be given to the management who really do seem to have turned it around in the last few weeks. the last three games should have given the stay aways some food for thought.

Well done gary ansell, superb goals mate.

Mention to danny snowsil, who played really well today.

great result!!

come on you blues!!!

Thought your 9 and your keeper were outstanding and your manager should be more than praised for motivating the other mixture of players you fielded

It did assist you having an unwatered pitch that created havoc with your kick and hope during long periods of pressure, But you wanted it more you scrambled better and got the result

Looking forward to next year

That's better, sobered up enough now to focus on the keyboard! I don't think the pitch assisted either team pabird. If anything it should have given your team the edge as surely they are better players? This result has been coming for a few weeks now. We've been unlucky on a number of occasions recently but the effort and commitment shown even in defeat has been first class. Danny Snowsill has taken a bit of a battering on this forum but yesterday I thought he was superb. Don't really need to add anything more, the result says it all:

BILLERICAY 2 c***** 1 Get in!!!!!

Not a big issue Ryan simply that a team that plays to feet and on the floor are going to struggle on a rock hard and bumpy surface against a team playing hit and hope

That is not to knock your side who managed the conditions and were better motivated on the day

And in your number 9 and the GK had the players to match the occasion

Look forward to the return(s) next season

PS have you had any information from the top on how you are to get it all together next season
