The referee's a w***er.....

Recommended Posts

So our away trips end like it started.

Spoilt by a man in black, who couldn't tell the time.

It started in the first game against Yeovil and the same again today.

But keep positive, we played well today, created plenty of chances, and now need only to win our last game to ensure survival.

Keep the faith , its in our own hands..

Oddly, today's referee Mr Lee would probably have been judged to have been one of the better officials ( well OK, certainly not among the worst) that we have encountered this season, had he not at least doubled the time he had already indicated was to be added on at the end of the game and therefore cost us the match. Unfortunately, it seems unlikely that the provocative getures made by his namesake to some of our fans will feature in his report. I thought that the No.10 Lee was a dirty and petulant player throughout the second half and his actions at the final whistle were disgraceful.

Certainly, it was hard to see where the referee got a lot of his extra time from, even considering the injury sustained by the Farnborough 'keeper Tony Pennock after the 90 minutes were up. The equaliser was truly a devastating blow, especially after hanging on so well and for so long.

But... A good performance again, with Wilko pulling off two fabulous saves, Burton having an excellent game... in fact, Tostao was the only player who disappointed a little. Liam ran his socks off and apart from one good chance headed over, he was excellent. At least it's in our hands - a win against Halifax should ensure that we stay up, given that Leigh have a large goal difference to make up.

COME ON YOU REDS - YOU CAN DO IT! grin.gif

(P.S. A nice surprise - only one booking! (Budge))

Well, what can you say where on earth did that time come from, but it is now in our hands a win will ensure we stay up as 3pts keeps us in front of Leigh & Woking even if they both win, Southport & Fleet on 45, Leigh on 44 & Woking on 43, perhaps Farnboro will do us a favour and beat Nuneaton so we can jump over them as well as they are on 46pts, onward to Saturday and conference survival.

Actually Leigh have 45 points and Woking 44, but the effect is the same.

All in all it was a awful place to go and as a result of what happened I have E.Mailed Farnborough with a set of complaints, including the supporters coach being hit by missiles when we left, and await their reply before complaining to The Nationwide League.

If you look at Farnboroughs site they even say the goal was scored in the 98th Minute

Hello everybody, unfortunately took a terrible moment to take a weeks holiday and missed the barnet and farnboro games!! Called my mother who was glued to the ceefax page 309 to tell me that we'd won 1-0 and was a final result...Couldnt believe it when i saw it was 1-1...How many minutes did the assistant indicate would be added on??

At 90 minutes, 4 additional minutes were indicated. Their keeper was then injured, but was down for far less time than Jacko had been in an earlier incident, and this, together with the substitution of Hatch by Wilkins, constituted more than a doubling oif that, to about 9 minutes, according to the ref.
