Reasons To Be Cheerful - Part 1 !

I've had a great season. Loads of possitives on the pitch plus the great atmosphere and meeting new friends. It didn't even sour things that some thug twice my size threw me over the wall and then proceeded to head butt me. I can also accept being smacked in the face by a young hooligan and receiving a cut under my eye for the pleasure.

All in all a great season, a great club and a great future.

Up the Fleet and all that sail with her.

I have to say this season has been utterly bizarre, but still great. The advent of MyFC has strengthened my love for the club and victories off our own back have been all the sweeter.

My selection of highlights:

Seeing Hirsty's crash-dive over the wall against Burton.

The last-minute winner at Stafford, ending a two-month gap of me seeing us win was a real highlight.

Beating Aldershot for the first time in the Conference and our steel away from home to draw with them showed a side to the Fleet I haven't seen for a long time, and we played our best football in years in those games.

We're going to Wembley.

And most importantly: despite the new Toms, Dicks and Harrys supporting the club, our existing fanbase feels tighter-knit than ever. I almost sense a Spirit of the Blitz about the place, which is most heartening if MyFC goes belly up. I've even been known to agree with that Gary from the Hempstead Valley from time to time.

Onwards and upwards, and lets do the (KSC-FAT) double!!

Crikey Bernard - thanks!!

As you rightly say, it has been a phenominal season on the pitch. We would have laughed our socks off 10 years ago if you have said we were palying in a national final at Wembley.

Full credit goes to Liam and Alan.

I was wrong - they have proved to be an inspired appointment.

We as a club must now press on, build on what we have, get a new ground, more fans and move into play off contention (or wein the title outright0 in the next couple of years.

Also, i am accused at work of being Chris McPhees lover, but he has to be a major positive from this season and will surely be offered a new deal.

Your not the only one that rates McPhee,Listening to Lord Chas on Tuesday evening, he felt that McPhee was a contender for player of the year, due to all the hard work he has put to secure his contract.

Got to admit, from the live matches that I have seen and from highlights, Chris has really stood out because of his work rate and persistance. Have my suspicions though that he could be the love child of Lord Chas but without the hereditary vocal ability!

Add me to the McPhee fan club.

It is not only his work rate that has impressed me, he also has a very good footballing brain. He has shown great positional sense whether he is playing at full back, in central midfield, on either flank or up front and he also brings others into play with simple passes on the ground (usually)

And 10 goals this season is not a bad return.

You obviously were not paying attention. I was dragged over the wall backwards by some fat old b*stard grin who had lost his footing during the goal celebration and taken a tumble over the wall, hence the reason he landed on the pitch first !! I have witnesses !!

Stressed ear my a*se, or should that be Stressed a*se my ear ?
Ooh err missus !

We could argue that the small wall is a danger to larger people as it causes them to overbalance whilst celebrating a goal!!

Sh*t, I shouldn't joke about things like that ! Fireman Sam will have us segregated by weight ! Jeff & Harry one end & everyone else at the other !! grin

Or else he will ban the scoring of goals as it may be a health hazard to all, not to mention the golden rule of today....Thy Shall Not Enjoy Yourself !!!

Cheers,
