I think that's the title gone then lads.......

Recommended Posts

Concord are still in it.....they have pi$$ easy games left and if Barkingside v Enfield goes the right way for them, they could win the league on goal difference IF they beat B`side away on the last day IMO!

I agree with Lightweight to a certain extent though, I dont think that many neutrals want to win it Concord anymore (I did at the start). They have some cracking people involved over there, Smutty, Chris Crerie etc and I get on well with most of the players etc so I would like them to suceeed!

But....silly antics and blatant dis-respect in some games (Enfield, Romford, Manor, Bowers to name a few) by a few wallys have got peoples backs up!

Despite this, I Personally would rather Concord as I know alot of the people involved and they are local. I would also prefer Barkingside over Enfield aswell.

Whatever happens, there is a few twists to come still!!!

As always numbers don't lie.I say "if and again if Concord has lost the title"

then they have got to have a look at their 5 defeats and 2 draws. An away defeat to Enfield and Eton Manor is acceptable the same as one at home to Barkingside but if you want to win it then you don't lose 4-0 at Bowers,1-0 at home to S.Manor and draw 1-1 at Hullbridge(A draw away to Romford is fine). That's 7 points missing and you give them back to Concord, paired with the game in hand and they will be top by 1 point....Having said that, hats off to them for the Brasted win,a great FA Vase run and another cup final.Whoever way it ends,it has been a very positive season for them and one they can build up for next year.We have spoken with hindsight because it ain't over yet...

You know Kaiser...your past secretary Shaun reminded me last night about that 2-2 away draw at Hullbridge.I said:you have lost promotion at home to Stansted" but he had none of it.He reaffirmed that you dropped those 2 vital points at Hullbridge in the last 15 minutes and he was still in the back of his mind as the reason for missing promotion!Funny innit? smile

Not really Coachie.

We dropped points in several places where we shouldnt have...

Eton Manor (Home)

Stansted (Home)

Hullbridge (away)

Southend Manor (away)

Bowers (away)

To name a few...

Also, why is shaun the "past secretary"? I thought he still was?

My original post (which was changed on the concord site by o.b. bit unethical that i feel!) was to get up certain Concord people noses owing to the fact that they are kents!! Though there is a lot of truth behind it. I'm led to believe that they pay good money at concord so you have to ask why are they in the position they are in. I agree the season is not over but it's not looking good for them. A few weeks ago they had another influx of players and it didn't seem to do much good. I wouldn't be to happy if I controlled the purse strings.

So they are not the best then???? If West Ham didnt drop silly points nearly every week, they might win the premier league.

However, why dont we wait a couple more weeks and then see who wins it. Admittedly Concord have quite a bit to do, but considering the games left, they are still not out of it.

With Enfield playing Eton Manor and then Bside in the next few days, come Sunday Concord could be alot happier again. I think its unfair on some of the other teams to say Concord are by far the best... if they was, the title would be wrapped up like Hornchurch and Brentwood done it. They certainly have the strongest squad, but perhaps all the cup games have finally taken their toll. I think this season has been alot closer and better contested than the previous 2 or 3 years which is better for the league all round and at least makes for an interesting finish.

PS come on Eton Manor!!
