Petethegreek - I know you are an exception to the rule, I wasn't including you but a lot of Officials do cry off games for whatever reason which gives Mick Ewen a big headache

Mr Ewen has a thankless task. I've been fortunate this season that, to my memory, none of my County and FA appointments have clashed with SSML matches and have avoided injury.

 

I don't think it's the excuses that annoy Mr Ewen but how close to the date of the match when officials

So you admit that it goes on then, one can see that you genuinely love officiating however there are certain officials who aren't as enthusiastic as you and, dare I say it, put more emphasis on their little envelope at 5.00 and 9.45 and milking Club's hospitality for all it's worth

It's only one or two officials who I know that do games purely for the money. I would stress that those I know are not on the SSML.
