Tooting & Mitcham and Kingstonian have been kicked out of the cup for fielding illegible players so Merstham and Redhill have been reinstated to play the semi-final with Whyteleaf waiting in the final.

Whats it coming to when the oldest and two of the most senior clubs in Surrey choose to undermine the Countys most Senior competition,did the clubs know these players were inellegible or did the County point it out to them?

In the semi-final of the FA Vase you can sign a player up to 12 noon the day before the 1st leg. The FA make that quite clear in all correspondence.

 

In the Surrey Senior Cup, for the semi final, it is 28 days prior and they have to make 3 1st team league appearances. The Surrey FA do not remind the clubs, they are expected to remember all this from one season to the next.The same thing happened to AFC Wimbledon last season.

 

Rules is rules no matter how antiquated they may be.
