I thought it was a good write up in the paper today supporting RT. It appears that the loss of players has been down to the reduced budget, and explains some of the problems that RT has had this season. If it is true, and there is no reason to think otherwise, I just wish the club would let us know. All the rumours that have been circulating about players leaving etc, and the anti Trott postings on the forum and at matches, may well have been prevented if we were informed. In fact, it is pretty likely that the support at matches would have been the complete opposite if supporters knew the truth. Lets get behind the team for the remaining matches and support RT and the players. Lets face it we are not going to be relegated!!!!!

I agree with Margateshot and have said before it is the total lack of communication between the club and the supporters that really frustrates me. When was the last time the club announced anything worthwhile on the Club website. Because of that we on the forum become involved in rumour control and because of this i think that perhaps RT may have had a rough deal from forum members we do not know the constraints the club put upon him and can only speculate.

Every club website i visit has comprehensive information from the club about their side, and I find it very difficult not living in Thanet to find out news about my team, it is only the forum where I can find out snippets of information so as much as I enjoy the forum banter and i do I would be far happier if the Club would release regular news items it would stop specualtion and rumour and we might even get an indication of what is happening with the ground. I do not agree with the "no news is good news" idea and we feel far more confortable with official comment.

Agree with reference to information from club.

However-had RT sorted the defence out-we may have done better in cups and league-thus bigger crowds thus fewer financial constraints.

That is his job-has he succeeeded ?

I really want RT to do well for club and himself, but i remain unconvinced that he is the right man.

Last season-he had the budget-and did not achieve.

The budget has been ok this season- bigger than most i expect-why spend it all on loads of right midfield players ?

why not coach/organise the existing players beeter ?

Have Ashford-and many others-really got better players than margate-probably not.

Are they better organised -probably yes

Great post Steve. I think some of us are forgetting the reduced budget this season. Also long term injuries like Yianni, Skinns and Coleman. Losing Standen in the way he did, all this and we still expect Trotty to work miracles.

I for one am right behind Robin as I know are the team by chatting to them after game.

LETS KEEP THE FAITH.

comparisions

Margate do not comunicate with there surport as said above by all or most ,WHY .

Dover seem to tell all surporters what they are upto . Speaking to my boss who`s a Dover fan and he told me they already have bought in 2 players who have dropped out of league footy to play for them , they also have a lad from Chelsea who they want to make perminant and Parmenter has ask the fans to donate

what im trying to say is what some others have said if there was some comunications with the club and us then maybe the rumours would not fly around the surport would be much greater than what it is now and we could be cheering on trotty and the team to greater things but all we seem to do is argue with each other or slam the squad . Some people may say its no bussiness of ours but it is if we are all contributing at the Gate or raising money for the club in another way . If that all stopped they would be asking us where the hell are we . A football club has to be run on trust and that goes all the way through from the Ball boy to the guys that own it , you don`t have to know everything but it helps if you know something . At the mo its like a bad nightmare so next season lets wake up to a new start and be positive about all at the club . Up the Gate .

Whilst Dover have always had a good fan base-its only this seasomn that they are getting double the attendances that margate are getting.

Maybe that has something to do with them communicating regularly with their customers-the same as any good business should do

True communication is the response that you get.

Thus if the club and manager are not getting the response from supporters that they would like, maybe they need to look at the messages/lack of messages that they are sending out first.

EXACTLY MM. I think there was a couple of months one time when the website pulled it's finger out and gave us info and that resulted in us discussing said info. Talking amongst ourselves, generally without all the facts will obviously lead to rumours and heresay. As you say it's two way, sometimes the club do not get what they want from us fans but we certainly don't get what we want from the club. Information would be a start-followed by some success.

I seem to remember us all having the same conversation about the Club, the Club Website and us last year. It seems nothing is going to change anytime soon, they only seem to want to release information in the local press, even there in dribs and drabs, nothing really informative about what it going on at the club. It seems to me that they only want to know about us is how many of us are coming through the turnstiles, other than that (with one or two exceptions) they don't seam to want to know.

Perhaps they are of the opinion that no news is good news. HELLO MARGATE FC, IT'S NOT!

It seems to me that the club only divulge snippets of information to a select small band of supporters. This does sometimes make me feel like a second class supporter despite being a season ticket holder and sponsor of 2 players.

Why even on the website they cannot not update who the players sponsors are (not that I do it for self publicity).

Unless the club wake up to the needs of ordinary supporters then they will have none left soon.

Last I heard the official website was being run / updated by Niki Canham and he lives abroad somewhere. Not sure if that's still the case but it can't be an ideal scenario and might go some way to explaining why there's very few actual news updates on the site although obviously that's not the only way the club can communicate news to supporters.

Niki is back in the UK but not locally and does the technical stuff plus player, commercial udpates etc when he gets the info and I do all the match stuff. Other "news" stuff has always come from and been updated by the club. BUt of course, whoever is able to do the updates need the info and time themselves. Not much of a response, I know but hopefully helpfulish.

I'd suggest that attendanecs have more to do with results and league position than communication. Not that comunication isn't important, just that it's less important when your side is running away with the league title!
