Taking the Fleet to the Locals......again

Hi all,

below is a post we have just published on MyFC. If anyone has time to spare on Saturday morning and wants to don their Fleet gear to add some support, it will be great to see you. All the best. Mark

Next Saturday 5th April before the home game with Woking a few of the MyFC Society Board members will be taking to the streets of Gravesend town centre with the aim of promoting MyFC to our glorious locals. We will be camped from 9am to noon in the St Georges Centre where we will be distributing flyers to attract new members to MyFC and EUFC. This initative will also be used to promote awareness of EUFC and in particular getting bodies through the gates and highlighting our Wembley exploits.

We have been granted permission from the local council for up to 6 members to hand out flyers to the public, so we would be happy for a couple more members to give us a hand for a few hours before the game.

We are also trying to secure the time of the great club mascot Hooky to join us to hand out stickers and sweets for the kids but if he is unavailable that morning we might have to ask Will Brooks to fill that roll as a MyFC mascot!! .

Another exciting opportunity that this initiative will enable us to promote is the Short Story Competition. We will hand out applications and promote the prizes.

We have been fortunate enough by sweet talking the centre manager to be given the use of a shop kiosk unit for the morning, enabling us to create a visual treat.

With the eurphoria surrounding MyFC, Wembley and also being ahead of two home games, this really does present a great marketing opportunity for both MyFC & EUFC.

Any members that are coming to the Woking match and arrive a little early please pop down and say hello to Spencer, Mark, Steve et al. Will be great to see you.

....or maybe just wait until all the "locals" buy their Wembley Tickets from Stonebridge Road !!!....and remind them that the large green thingy is the pitch, what the Fleet play all their home games on.....especially on a cold Tuesday night !!

It will be nice ( nice ?) to see thousands of people cheering on the Fleet at Wembley, but I am pissed off already with the once every ten years gang ! I was in the pub yesterday and heard " well I was at the Notts County game you know !" oh..'kin hurrah for you !

Cheers,

Cheers,

I know how you feel mate. Was speaking to Ash in A-Z Sports today and he said he has had loads of people wanting to buy merchandise. He's got two coaches going up. My phone has been ringing from mates who have never ever been to the Fleet asking for ticket info......naughty I know but I've been telling them to [****!!****] off.

Any thanks for your money see you in 10 years.

Up the Fleet

Yeah I would offer to help out but I am not exactly a people person so it probably isn't the best idea. But I will pop down to say hi before I head to the ground as I always meet my friend in the town centre.

Nice to see more is being done to attract the locals. Just hope that it is a success and more of them start to take notice that their local club is doing so well.

This is Kent ! Hellfire Corner , and all that ! I can remember Polish flyers , and very valued they were too , but Welsh - that's pushing it !

It is said that the only true Englishman is in fact a Welshman ... when the Vikings , Normans , Angles , Jutes et al invaded , your true Englishmen ran away to the hills of Wales to escape ! Now , they wear kilts too ... apparently the sheep have got used to the sound of a zip !
