TROTT OUT!

All the best teams firstly stand by their manager through thick and thin till he gats it right. Yoyo teams get rid of their managers and have a bunch of fanatics calling for the managers blood.

I know where I'd sooner be. Trotty to stay and let's start marching up those leagues.

What has Robbie Summers age got to do with the situation anyway, or anybody else's age? You haven't said whether he played well or not - that is surely more to the point. If someone is up to the job then they should be picked.

And as for "we have to act" - just who is we? It is a bit like saying "something must be done" - but by whom?

Summers was poor. We gain nothing by playing a 30-something that can't cut it. If we're going to sacrifice the competition by playing an XI that hasn't played together before then surely most managers would use youngsters instead of ageing local players who have never impressed.

We = MFC. The board have a huge decision to make.

All the best teams usually hire a manager with at least some tactical nous, a level of discipline, a willingness to use substitutions etc etc in the first place.

Seem to be a very strong and angry set of emotions on here but i stated in another post all the time the team hear the talk on the terreces what can you expect them to be like . How can our boys pick themselves up when there own are reading them the riot act . Make your feelings known but wait till the end of the season because at the mo we are contributing to the reason the team can`t achieve anything on the pitch that we would condone as an achievement . Then if the so called boo-boys are around they can say what they like to the team and Trotty and end of season awards as we will all be in the same room . Up the Gate .

I know a lot of us would love to be flying up the leagues already including myself but let's all be fair in what has been achieved already.

1. We're back playing at Hartsdown, still with improvements going on.

2. We've now got a reserve/youth programme in place.

3. The 5 a-side pitches are finished which in turn brings in extra revenue and has already brought about a teriffic community spirit and togetherness amonst local footballers. Which in turn should also bring us extra supporters to our gates and more vocal support behind our team.

4. We are already starting to see some of the local talent coming through. i.e Morris, Quain, Van Hinsberg, McAree, Pratt. Which can only be good for us all and other locals to be interested in.

Both items 3 and 4 should in turn hopefully have a knock on effect for bringing more local support to our terraces. In turn producing more revenue thus producing a better team and facilities.

All this considered I believe Trotty is definately taking us in the right direction. With what looks like a fruitfull future. Yet an overnight sucsess was never going to happen. A total rebuilding programme was, all in all TROTTY IS DOING A GREAT JOB, and will take us back to the conference and hopefully beyond but this time with the proper infrastucture and sound roots in place.

That would be a very civil way of conducting yourself HDFan, but that isn't football is it

I am fed up with the situation and if I see a rubbish performance I will boo. If the team are down because a dozen or so fans are showing there emotions then to me that is another reason to get rid of Trotty as it is his job to keep their heads up as well as everything else (which imo he is doing badly)

I agree with Geoffs posting, but rather than turn up and see an inept performance I will stay at home and listen to the commentary whilst I do other things. Being that I am not the only one staying away something has to be done, whether its a new manager, new signings, new stadium or just a better on field performance but something

Just for the record I would like to see a new experienced manager

I agree Andy (HD fan). Personally I'm in two minds about Trotty. Some things he's done well, others he hasnt.Giving him grief at this time in the season does no-one any good whatsoever.

There are times when I dismay at some of the things he does or dosen't do (i.e not using Peters in a more forward role seeing as we have not much left to play for & especially when things are clearly not working on the pitch).Maybe an under pressure Trotty sees "not losing" as more important than going all out for the win when teams peg us back. He needs to take a chance sometimes, take that gamble & though he got stung for doing that re:Goodfellow & it didnt work out,(he might be nervy at doing so after that time)it might do on another day with a different approach,an attacking one rather than a defending one.

4 games left, lets get through this season & air our views after that time.

Close season gives everyone time to think & talk about this & others aspects of this season. No harm done to our results then.

I'm neither with or against those who want him out, am not sure either way, but surely we have to do our best to get something out of this season & believe it or not being Thanets "Top Dog" is no way beyond us yet. Now thats something we have to go for so lets get together for a few games more & hope that Trotty & his team mates can string together some faultless displays to round the season off with.

Im scratching my head in disbelief at the woeful display of football today - but calling for the managers head to roll is not the solution. 11 players make up the squad so they all need a good kick up the [****!!****] IMO. The saying "better the devil u know" comes to mind, as is always the case with MFC we are trying to climb mountains before we can walk. Mid table would have been accepted pre-season (where we are now), so what has changed to call for trottys head on a plate. Agreed falling attendancies is a major problem, maybe We as supporters are to blame because boycotting games is NOT the solution.

There is a massive gap between kent league div 2 and Ryman premier.

Morris and Smith are good enough for Ryman Premier-and hopefully next season ,another reserve team player will make the grade;but we will always need players from outside the local community-just to remain a ryman club (ask Ramsgate ).

That is where RT fails-he does not have the connections to get the right players-and/or-the coaching /organisation skills to make the most of what he has got.

Take the defence-he has had since may last year to sign defenders-or coach what he has got into some sort of defensive unit-11 months later and it is worse than it was at begining of the season. As a defender himself-it should be relatively easy for him-has he not learnt from the managers he has played under or been coached by.

I do not expeect 'star players' at margate-i can live with being in the ryman PREMIER for another two seasons, but i can only see RT taking MFC` further downhill to ryman south.

On current form-we are relegation material-and next season-the squad is likely to be weaker-older players/lower budget still/no decent coach to organise the side so we are relegation candidates for next season.

Thats why i believe Mr T has to go.

You regularly find that end of season form carries itself over to the next season. Those doing well in the last quarter of the season-usually make a `strong start the next-and those doing poorly at the tale end of one season-make a really poor start-form carries over

I find myself agreeing with all of that. Nail on the head.

Thats a fair comment Pagey and your personal opinion counts just as much as the next person , i know there are lots of negatives at the club but there are positives as well. Personally im not on anyones side over the situation and just want to see good footy every week . The only thing i personally think is with all the development work thats been going on at the club the football and the team has been pushed down the ladder to accomidate this which seems to have halmed what we all want to see good footy . So let this season end make the squad the main priority again and let the person at the top of the club deal with it sucessfully so we can have a match winning and promotion winning squad for next season even if that means a new manager but i would like to see Trotty part of that setup as well . Up the Gate.

How exactly are the 5-a-side pitches doing in terms of generating income.

On the three occasions i have been at HDP since start of year-one evening and two sats., there was absolutely no-one on the 5-a-side pitches !!

Are we not all forgetting Trotty's targets in his FIRST full season? Promotion. Failed. First round of the FA Cup. Failed. A good run in the Trophy. Failed. I was one of the few who felt he should have gone at the end of the last season. After all, if I failed three targets in my first year of a job, I would expect to be shown the door!

Surely, with such high ambitions at the start of last season, the board did not suddenly turn round at the beginning of this campaign and set a target of mid-table. I can't see how Trott will have succeeded in fulfilling the board's aims for the season.

And as for all this nonsense about our negativity affecting the results, what a load of rubbish! If that was the case, we should have won the league about three months ago! Our support has been unquestionable; without a doubt, very positive. Yet that did not seem to inspire to the team to great heights, so why should negativity have the opposite effect?

They were set by PIPER not Robin.

The 5 a side revenue will not kick in for some time.

Staying away denies the club revenue.

Sacking RT now is ludicrous and as i say i think he is a genuine man with the club very much at heart.

Two or three very good players in defence would make the world of dif.

We will now have to wait till next season.

IF YOU SUPPORT MARGATE FC. turn up when you can and get behind the team.

Yes there have been inept performances this year and for the past 5 years sadly. That does need to improve. As i say turn up and support.

geoff-you are absolutely correct-2/3 good defenders would make all the difference.

That was obvious last season-even more obvious this season, (from may)yet RT has in 24 months not improved the defence one iota.

How can we be confident he will do better in the summer, with persumably a lower budget.

Enough is enough.

Like yourself-i believe in continuity-but i just can't see things improving under the guy i am afraid.

what evidence/hope is there that he will do better next season than this (or last ?)

He seems to content himself signing right midfield players and wingers;when its the spine of the team in defence midield and attack that needs attention now and from day one

I've lost patience with Trott, Geoff. He's had two years to strengthen the defence, and he's failed. Why wait another year to see if this happens, with his limited contacts. I don't see any signs of it happening, and frankly I wouldn't want to take the chance, if I was the man making the decision on whether or not he gets a renewed contract.

As the season is practically over, I just hope we don't renew Trott's contract in the summer. We need a fresh start. Perhaps a new man would take a fresh look at the squad in all areas, and wouldn't have to worry about upsetting his mates if he drops them or moves them on.
