Alright chaps, enjoy your trip up N'arf London yesterday? Have the Turkish band banging away for 90 mins?

 

Can't see your boys slipping up against Yeading and certainly not against Wembley, they are a really poor team, as their league position shows! Its not over by a long way yet, realistically its between us, your lot and Hemel. They have a tougher run in, but really its whether we slip up. I'm not looking forward to next Saturday and our match against Berkhamsted. To be honest Berkhamsted could well have a hand in deciding who gets second spot, as we, yourselves and Hemel all have to play them. Anyway, I'm not making any predictions, its too hard to call. All I will say, is may the best team win!

Just make sure your boys keep winning because we'll be doing the same..... wouldn't it be nice if we hear through the wires you've slipped up at Wivenhoe before our match with Yeading kicks off..... would be tragic wouldn't it! Obviously we need your lads to lose a couple but like Lord has pointed out, Berkhamsted will be a tricky one, and if there is life in the Rebels at the at late stage, your trip to Marlow may well be perilous.

Don't be fooled by the 'creative' journalism of the NLP today either, Pennant were barely involved in the game and as for their player being sent off for no apparent reason, I nearly choked on my Shreddies this morning! I've never seen a more blatant deliberate elbow before, well apart from the two their number 11 threw in the space of five seconds and got only a yellow for.

Yep, I had to laugh at the NL paper today. You would have thought Leyton Pennant were all over us! Dwight hardly had a kick all game as Brown and Daly were excellent.

 

As for the sending off the player jumped with his elbows just as one of their players seemed to do first half. The NL paper report seemed to talk about chances that went well over the bar for them and seemed to forget Willo's shot brilliantly saved by Jackman and Sammy's shot inches wide as well as Hodges header late on.

 

Yep we were not great, but we were comfortable and it made Leyton Pennant sound like Arsenal. You always get a balanced view of the game when the report for the Slough home games are written - now who does them now <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

Thrilling match - blimey they must have had some poor ones at Pennant this season! The reports even more biased than the NL paper.

 

Just read the Harlow report underneath as well - first paragraph states they were beaten by a poor Harlow side - I think the report writed may have his rose tinted glasses on for all matches :-0

 

Also I can only remember them having one real chance on 90 mins!

No, be fair, they had more than that. The second half saw Deano's off the line clearance and about two or three good saves from kippers, but they certainly didn't trouble us that much in the first half.
