Refs need more RESPECT

Don't hold yer breath, DorkingDave !

It's persistantly coming down at the moment !

Meadowbank looking more unlikely by the minute, so I'm reliably informed.

SL has calmed down a bit, but he still says things that make me cringe and then wonder how he gets away with it.

I think it is a great idea that officials visit teams at the beginning of the season, during the season etc. At one of my old clubs, we used to get a couple of referees visit us in preseason to talk through new/changed laws, how they are interpreted, what is being asked of them etc. Im sure it will help.

I know for one that we will be voting to remove this no standing lark in the dugouts.

I am sure that one thing we can all agree on is that until it is seen to be acted upon in the Premiership, it will continue to plaque the game at grassroots level

This has to be addressed at Premiership level.

I honestly think that some referee's are too frightened to make a stand because they may experience the wrath of certain managers, and then the F.A.

Anybody who watches Match of the Day, etc, only have to have the basic lip-reading skills to see referee's and assistants being called all the names under the sun.

I for one, certainly wouldn't stand for it and would have no hesitation in brandishing a red card immediately.

Easy said than done Big JR. Premiership Refs are on 1 year contracts. If they upset the Big 4 they are out on their ears. So waht would you do when your career is threatened. You do what yuo can to make sure you survive. What we need is a governing arm that is able to control the big clubs and until the gravy train derails this will never happen.

As early as 1976, DD ? That was well past my sell-by date.

Incidently, - I spotted you 'lurking' outside a certain Dorking West Street hostelry yesterday afternoon.

Never made it into the Star, my boy was to muddy. Just finished a sponsored walk completed by the Dorking Saints Football club in aid of Club Funds and Marie Curie, it is a year tomorrow since Stuart died.

Thanks to Krooner on the reffing front. Got a load of verbal from OUR team captain at the start of the match, told him never to speak to me like that when I am refereeing, didn't hear another peep out of him. The A's did well to come back from 2 nil down to win 5-2, B's lost 2 nil, dreadful finishing. Only a few more matches until 11 a side OMG.
