more teams coming to ESL?

Recommended Posts

according to TK website there is a suggestion that the following teams may be joining the ESL

stanway rovers

st margertsbury

brimsdown rovers

sporting bengal

plus possibly one of ilford/wivenhoe/tilbury?

1)whats everyone think about this?

2)will it actually happen?

this seems to get suggested every year i know but anyone got any info?

could the ESL finally have 21/22 teams?

Mauritius looking most likely aswell.

Takeley have got a tidy ground mate, nice place. Floodlights and 60 seat stand apparently just completed/will deffo be done by the summer. Mountnesing play at 'The Football Academy' in Loughton which is supposed to be awesome, but then someone recently said their 'Bank of England' ground wasn't up to it?

One thing's for sure. This thread has given me the raging horn. Well done Smallsy.

Takeley have a nice little ground with floodlights and stand but sadly no bar. Mountnessing play at the Bank of England ground in Loughton. A superb playing surface but no surrounding infrastructure, e.g. Fencing, stands, turnstiles etc. Nice big clubhouse/bar though.

isnt the bank of england ground where eton manor wanted to play?

it would be nice for ESL to have proper amount of team as outsiders mock us and you cant really blame them sometimes.

I can't imagine why Eton Manor would want to go there, as there are no floodlights etc.

Unless I am completely thinking about the wrong place, I believe it to be here... http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=544750&y=196250&z=1&sv=544750,196250&st=4&ar=N&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srf

JP21 I was at mountnessing about 4 weeks ago.really nice people but there is no chance of them getting in the ESL with the facilities they have.No fence just a roped off pitch which was very small,no floodlights, and the changing rooms are the smallest I have ever seen,no refreshments supplied, they would need to spend a lot of money on a pitch that isnt theirs, cant see it unless they move somewhere else.

Say that again Small One I seem to have missed it the second time! grin

You seem to have "repetitive press syndrome" these days or is it trembling fingers at the thought of playing at Lower Road?

I've heard/read rumours about potentially several clubs taking voluntary relegation for next season which could affect the ESL.

TK has a lot of very good ideas which he puts into print but don't know how "official" his recommendations are.

However, my seaweed indicates that there is a possibility (but only a possibility) that the ESL may increase up to around 20 teams next season which would be an ideal number in my view
giving the financial circumstances of many of the existing clubs already playing in our competition.

Would also be great if we could also have a level 6 league feeding into it thus creating the excitement of promotion/relegation at the bottom end too.

Same old story every season. This team are coming, that team are going etc then because of rules, red tape etc we end up with good teams being turned away and Park Football FC being admitted into the ESL.

What I want to know is if B'Side, Concord or Enfield get promoted (is it one or two teams because the rules change every year?) and the ESL do not get established teams back in what will the league look like? Every year teams at Step 4 are saved from relegation for one reason or another. Then teams are meant to be moved sideways and never are and the ESL gets poor teams to make up the numbers. St Mags are in Hertfordshire as well so it's another non Essex team being accepted.

If one or two of the said teams get promoted and the ESL only get Takely, Bengal etc does anyone agree that it will be the poorest ESL for years.

On the Waltham Forest situation I think it's terrible that a side of their statue, who have been at Waldham Lodge for years are chucked out and that MS&P are given the ground instead. I know when I was at Manor their was talk of us going to Waldham Lodge but it never happened. Having said that we tried for so many grounds but got turned away. I also heard the rumour about the Bank of England ground and maybe Manor were going to build some stand, fence etc. Maybe Manor Born would know.
