Next season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Us Bracknell fans were thinking of a supporters vs first team end of season or pre-season game and also an old XI.

One option is to have one game where the first team play the supporters first half and old XI play the first team second half.

Another option is to play as the supporters vs the first team but with 5 or 6 ringers (old XI) thrown in.

If getting Premiership teams or anyone decent is too difficult what about a triangular competition with our local rivals Windsor & Burnham. It would get in the papers I'm sure and it might even get some more supporters interested?

Always helps being the favourites in those sort of tournaments though!

Although I think that would be a good idea. Slough, SYCOB and 2 other teams possibly played over 2 concurrent days a bit like the Emirates Cup at Arsenal.

I think that is another good idea, we should at least be trying anyway right, you dont know unless you try!!!

Spoke to my mate who supports FC and he said thaqt a couple of years ago they played Dover athletic away and they had a deal that FC would receive half the gate receipts based on the fact that the gate was over 1000. That would give us money for at least 500 people through the gate. Could be worth looking into if they are down south at all.

The problem with that idea is that theres the issue that Windsor, Burnham and Beaconsfield (and hopefully us too) are likely to be in the same league, so may be reluctant to play friendlies against each other. Seeing the poor turnout in the derby matches this season I find it hard to believe that people will turn out for friendlies.

I like the idea of the novelty games involving fans/ex Rebels/Slough Ladies/1st team etc but its whether there would be enough volunteers to play and if it would actually raise any money.

i really think the fc united idea is a good one, they play afc wimbledon every year i think, im sure a lot of people would come to holloways park to watch the match if it was publicised a lot, fc united seem very good at forging links and making friends in the non-league world so who knows if we do make that contact it could be a good one,and if they did come we could invite them in a couple of years to arbour vale. smile

Yeah they play AFC wimbledon in the supporters direct cup each year but i think FC are hosts this year although they dont have a ground (another reason they may help) and groundshare with Bury but apparently Bury are asking for more now so it may well be played at wimbledon again this year and so they would probably be more than willing for an extra game.

Went with my mate to that supporters direct cup last year and they had brough about 1000 with them and they have fans all over the country anyway.
