Yeh, thanks Cookie. I was trying to post when the database issues were unresolved last night.

What annoyed me was McCartney's strongly implied criticism of the Margate fans "abusing" Jim Ward (yeh, I know) when initially he was turning round and laughing - all seemingly OK. But there was no mention of the blatant (and usual) intimidation of the officials and how the Wards spent so much time out of their technical areas. (Not the only management team in the Ryman league to do that I know.)

I was also annoyed by SMcM's implication that the Margate fans (suggesting a lot of them) rather than a few (and I can understand why) were booing Robin Trott at the end of the game. I'm not sure what lens he looks at things through, but it's a different one to mine.

mad

Of course I wasn't happy we lost either.

Just read Trotts interview. What a load of [****!!****] the man comes out with. Where the hell is "the massive, massive positives from todays game".

There is nothing positive about losing to them and blowing our play off chances at the same time but then us fans "don't know the bigger picture".

Sadly, I'm another who has completely lost the faith.

Well in some peoples eyes he might be Mike, but I read into it he hasn't always been lucky with injuries or suspensions at key times. Lets be honest at start of the season hardly anyone expected us to get promoted so why the sudden change in peoples attitudes?

I believe he has to be given another season when the ground will hopefully improve and more youngsters get the experience to come in the side. Time will tell though.

He talks bol-ocks Alan in his interview the youth are not part of the main club they are run seperately and the only reason the 18s and reserves are now there is all down to a seperate company who make money from having a linkup with the club. The main club have absolutely no interest in the youth untill Mark Weatherley pushes them to look. Trotty has gone past his sell buy date and should be replaced with someone with half brain cell.

The fact that fans are so divided over the manager is a sign that something, somewhere is wrong. The dwindling attendances are proof that fans are getting fed up. I used to really look forward to going to any game we were involved in but it's actually beginning to feel like more of a chore and can I be ar$ed to bother.

Having said that - see you tomorrow. ( Only 'cos it's Gravesend though ).

Deep scar you have there bigtw. The "fact" is that it can only be opinion about how one views Robin's ability to manager the club and get results.

For what it's worth, I agree with Alan, he should be given the job for another year.

And if your frame of reference is Ramsgate's youth development, then don't forget they have built that up over a long time from Kent League days. After not having the luxury of a link with youth or reserve football due to financial constraints, ground-sharing etc (a whole other debate and water under the bridge now) my feeling is that MFC have made significant progress in a short period of time, whatever the connections and structure underneath the first team, and should be applauded.

I have been interested in Ramsgate's very public announcment about taking youngsters from Margate as part of their youth development focus, but silence when they have mostly been moved out to Ryman 1 or Kent League clubs.

Oh no, I'm rambling so I'll stop.

Yes they have been moved out players to Ryman 1 and kent league clubs to further their developement Wellsie as they have always done with great results. Minshall. Vahid, and the likes.

If Margate done this for the last 3 seasons they would have a lot more players willing to play for pride and not just the money.
