Charles looked pretty useful last night against a very quick Cambridge side.

He is out of contract in the summer, I believe, and there is a good chance he'll be available for free.

 

I think he can definately do a job for you in the Conference and maybe command a fee, a year or so, down the line.

Saw the game lunchtime, Charles looked a very solid player, both quick and strong. Took a while to get an understanding with Hawkins and Lance, but that is to be expected.

Certainly looked a decent player last night and is potentially a good pick-up if he leaves Brentford in the summer.

My preference for a centre-back would be Colin Hawkins who has just been released by Coventry - would be one of the top defenders at Conference level - but I suspect he'll want to go back to the League of Ireland.

I don't know how much the Ebby wage budget is next season, but I'd say Darius was easily affordable, ex-Championship players were not
