Season Ticket 08-09 , Decision Time

An article has been posted on the MYFC board regarding Season Tickets. It has called for comments and then a formal proposal for Season Tickets will be put forward in a weeks time.

 

All the comments that we discussed on here over the last 3 weeks have been posted on the article, so hopefully some of the views given by people on here will be taken into account.

Article Reads.

 

Season tickets for the 2008-9 season will be on sale soon and we need to decide how to price them. That is, whether to put them up, down or leave them the same.

 

The Society board is keen to get the members views on this before a formal proposal is made for a vote.

 

To help you in your deliberations, the club have been kind enough to provide details of season ticket sales and prices over the last few years.

When considering price changes, please take into account the effect this will have on the clubs income. Obviously any price reductions should have the aim of increasing the take up of season tickets. Careful consideration should be made about whether this will actually be the case. Similarly while any increase in prices may increase the income from season tickets, it may of course lower the number of tickets sold.

 

Maximising the number of season tickets sold obviously means guaranteeing more income to the club for the whole season and also improves cash flow as Season ticket holders are paying in advance.

 

We will also need to decide on whether to keep the early take up offer. An alternative to this has been suggested by Steve (Asbodan) that we offer a free FA Trophy final ticket for anyone renewing their season ticket before the end of April this year.

 

Other possible considerations are whether to offer mini season tickets for perhaps 5 or 10 matches. This may be particularly relevant now that we have members who for geographical reasons will be unable to attend all games. Speaking to the club, a similar scheme to this is already in place but we could formalise it and incorporate it into the Season ticket structure. Such tickets could be sold at a pro rata season ticket cost plus 5%?.

 

Finally, Brian (Brian A) and Mark (DA11) have suggested that payments of season tickets could be staggered to encourage a higher take up.

 

We are happy to consider other ideas you may have.

Interesting to see that there has been no take up of the 10 year tickets since their original introduction.

 

You might want to consider whether it is worth making these tickets availble with an instalment option, or perhaps offering the current holders an incentive to extend them *
