The reserve div 1 result effectively gives Hertford Town a first league championship in 47 years! Only Cockfosters and Oxhey can equal Hertford's points total and have vastly inferior goal differences. A point in the next game (Wednesday next)(at home against Cockfosters) makes it certain.

An anorak 'braved' Oxhey Jets tonight, I'm surprised there has never been a repeat of the near riot there in 2005/2006 which caused the game with Haringey Borough to be abandoned on 88 minutes:

Tonight I had the excitement of a first trip on the London Overground on the way up to South Oxhey for my first league game of the week. Programme had information on both sides and a nice article about the personalities involved over the years at the visitors. The ground is undergoing a bit of work, with what looks to be a covered standing area under construction. It was a cold night and I was glad to get a cup of tea from the 'catering village', which seemed a slightly over the top title for a caravan! The game itself was fairly tight with Oxhey scoring early on. Colney came back with an equaliser just before half time, and scored what turned out to be the winner just after the break. After that both sides had furthur chances but the score remained the same, allowing Colney Heath to overtake their hosts in the league table.
