Ramsgate's six-man midfield

Kidology or not... Ward was quoted in Tuesday's Thanet Times as saying "Me and Danny sat down and worked out how we could get our best eleven on the pitch". He then said he asked Stuart Vahid if he fancied being the lone striker, to which Vahid agreed. It seems that Ramsgate are now playing with a similar sort of system to which Terry Brown, the AFCW manager, said Ramsgate used against his side, a "3-6-1"

Considering the personnel in their starting eleven last week against Billericay, I'd guess this is how they set up:

-------------ALLISTON-------------

----DAVIS----O.SCHULZ----TANNER---

HADDEN-------LASLETT----------HILL

--------W.SCHULZ--MINSHULL--------

-------------FIRTH (injured, replaced by Dolton)

-------------S.VAHID--------------

Will be good to have Jay back on Monday to combat this packed midfield, if indeed they stick to it.

Wasn't there Saturday but have seen all recent home games. Would suggest it's more a case of a back four with Tanner just in front. Midfield very flexible but at times could be seen as 3 up front with Warren and Minshull pushing forward for a lot of support for the front man (or men when it was King and Piper in earlier games.

Whatever happens it will almost certainly be a battle with not a lot in it. Here's to a good game and good advert for Thanet football to get the crowds back for both clubs.

Perhaps we should just by-pass the midfield and so go 3-1-6! attentat

Personally, i like 4-2-2-2.

Keep it narrow-completely the opposite to what RT thinks, but to my mind,at this level rarely do you get a good cross anyway.Plus, the full backs can go down the wing and the two guys in front of the defence then just go a bit wider.

Did'nt we win the world cup in 1966 without wide players !!

Don't concede the nil

I hate these blo*dy derbies! There's always so much riding on the game, and they often end up being dire, tense affairs. I can't see this one being any different, with only one goal separating the teams. It's going to be a real tough battle.
