The court case has now been put back to April 10th.

A short hearing, we are told.

From what I was told very recently, I don't think it will be the only hearing.

Nothing to do with DFC, I hasten to add.

Barristers, and all that !

Along with the costs of the River Lane, Fetcham gypsey fiasco.

Dorking Halls etc to be privatised ?

M.V.D.C. has money to burn !

No need too TSF. Both played enough games so they will not be removed. It will have the rest of the results awarded if the worst happened but I would be very surprised.

with the 31st march deadline upon us, it looks to me like the league rules say that any new entrant to the league has to meet the ground criteria by 31/3 but anyone in the league already has until the end of May.

Is that right and does that give any div 1 sides a hope of coming up?

The rules also seem to say no groundshare can be permanent, how does that work?

Can a club have its own ground and hire another to play its CCL fixtures?

What's to stop the LLamas renting a ground next season as they are for midweek now and play in the prem next season (apart from cash)?

TSF.
Any groundshare must have been in place prior to any promotion. Therefore, Staines Lammas can not arrange a ground share to achieve promotion. If, for example, they were sharing at Ashford this season they could have promoted.
IMHO, the league needs to be flexible regarding any ground grading for 2008/9 season so that the numbers in each division make sense. If the league were to be totally strict re grounds then several clubs would be demoted to step 6 (ie division 1) from the Premier Division.
I hope that common sense will prevail and that the CCL will support it's current member clubs.
I also believe the league will be flexible re 31st March deadline!

thanks Chris, I am wondering if there is a difference between groundsharing and hiring a facility to play your games.

The ccl rules seem to say a groundshare cant be permanent and there must be plans in place to move to your own ground.

It seems to me a few of the clubs have "permanent" groundshare arrangements.

Obviously Im thinking mainly about Dorking here.

It seems they would be able to hire say maybe Redhill or Horley to fulfil their fixtures this season, if weather or courts made Meadowbank not possible.

But it would seem they couldn't use the same facility next season.

Could Bookham who are "groundsharing" now, groundshare at another club next season?

What's happened there then? I used to walk that way after school sometimes.

A long long story bomaya which went on for months. I'll try and give a BRIEF synopsis.

M.V.D.C. took exception to the travellers on the site over something or another, and issued an eviction order.

Travellers appealed and refused to move.

Appeal upheld.

M.V.D.C. appealed.

Went to High Court, and the travellers won on legal and technical grounds.

Cost to M.V.D.C. tax-payers ran well into 6 figures, allegedly !!!!

TSF, TRS or DorkingDave may know or wish to impart more information, being fellow subscribers !
