No drums and big flagpoles at Wembley

Recommended Posts

I've just come off the phone from Wembley who confirm that we are not allowed to take any drums to the stadium nor any flag poles longer than 1 metre, period.

If you want to phone them and argue the toss, ring:

0844 980 8001 and press 1 for an operator.

BTW, I've just reviewed a few Youtube videos of the Morecambe v Exeter play-off final and, sure enough, there are no big flags and I can't hear any drums.

So, folks, apart from singing, it's gonna be a quiet, uncolourful event after all!

Dave

We had a 7mx5m banner made up for the semi, and a number of folks are getting even bigger ones made for the final like you guys.

If there's any hope of Wembley relaxing the rules over the drums, get your management to bring it up at the meeting of the FA which, so I understand, both our clubs will be attending tomorrow, Thursday, to discuss tickets etc.

I mean, it's hardly Millwall vs Chelsea bovver boys, is it! We're too busy surfing to get nasty!

Trying to get the drum to Wembley is hilarious.

They probably wont allow it as it is a fire hazard. If the stadium had to be evacuated then the drummer wouldn't be able to run very fast while carrying the drum and would slow others down, if he left it then he would slow others down.

Just leave it, we can make plenty of noise without it.

harry, i think you have an unhealthy obsession with the drum and in your heart of hearts love really. and on the subject of flags it should be fine, my mate had no trouble putting his up there and apparently the stadium was designed to make it easier for fans to put up flags because of the tradition among english to put up flags.

They must let drums in at some time as they let the England band in and they have 2 drums. I think they are teh Sheff Wed band so I will see if anyone can get in touch with them.

How many drums do we want and if they do allow it are the drumers willing to go up the back by the score board which is where they put the england band?

Never give up
