FA Trophy Final Kit

It's amazing how being (almost) successful can make many supporters forget that it was only a few months ago that there was a debate on this very forum about the prospect of yet another shirt change. Now the majority who have posted on this thread seemingly can't wait to buy two new shirts and probably without any discount from Nike for those who do go on to purchase them both.

I am all for the Club making money which I hope will be saved or at least spent wisely for the anticipated lean times ahead, but there is a fine line between making an honest profit and blatant exploitation. "Cheer, cheer here come the fleeced" everyone?

I love the large foam hand. I can be Jeremy Beadle for the day. That leads me on to a joke........

Did you know that Jeremy Beadle had a huge d1ck. However, on the other hand it was quite small.

I like it all, I would like to buy one of each, but they are made by Nike and I will never wear, buy or own anything made by that sorry excuse for a company.

Why oh why did we go with such a child exploiting, sweat shop using piece of crap company.

And I know that they all do it, but Nike are the biggest and worst. If they changed their ways and allowed open, independent regulation of their work practises they would corner even more of the market and force all of the others to follow suit.

However, as said previously, each to their own. Everyone can make up their own minds on matters of conscience or price. Each to their own

The following is my own view , and in no way condones the exploitation of sweat shops or child labour :

Have you stopped to think WHY these children are working for Nike , and the other companies , as they do ?
There are a lot of factors , not just the cheap material and labour charges to maximise the company bottom line . One serious reason why children work is they are orphans , having lost family to conflicts , or become misplaced through family upheaval due to conflict . Another is death of parents to serious diseases such as Aids ( notably in Africa ) - if their newly adoptive parents used to be their grandparents who cannot work due to age and/or infirmity , sometimes the youngsters have that freedom of choice denied them .
I agree in one respect - Nike and all the other manufacturers should extend a duty of care to these children , and also provide some sort of "socially enhancing life" for them away from work . They also need to go a lot further to eradicating the horrific injuries that sometimes happen due to their working practices . I wouldn't deny them their earnings , but I feel it should go hand in hand with a healthy respect for the reasons why they have to earn that money the way they do .
There - just my view , but one shared by many others I'm sure .
As an aside , I will not be buying the Wembley shirt , my current one is sufficient - however , the micro fleece in May might be welcome .
ONWARDS AND UPWARDS - COME ON YOU REDS

Nike are bad employers worldwide, as are ASDA (Wal-Mart) and Nestle!

Wal-Mart build on greenbelt land (through dodgy practices with local councillors) and then sell at below cost until they kill off a town centre.

Nestle, give free milk powder to mothers in third world countries and then charge them regular prices later once the mums' milk has dried up. This forces the mums to use less powder and the kids end up malnourished and, as is often the case, the mums use polluted water and the kids end up dying. Do a Google on baby milk action!

Much as I see the need for kids to supplement either their own or their family's income, as you say, Nike need a rocket up their jacksy regarding their employment practices!
