A mad idea but it fits with a mad decision

Love him or hate him, Micky Woodward is a character. You cannot doubt his enthusiasm for the game.

I make him 100% right to give two fingers to the FA re paying the bloke who went to jail.

So if Wednesdays verdict goes against Mick I think all teams should protest next Saturday by having a minutes refusal to play. Quite easy to do within the rules of the game. At a given time one players dribbles the ball unchallenged into the centre circle, then leaves it there. No players contest it but the ball is still in play. Leave it for a minute (this could be timed by someone in the crowd). There is nothing in the rules to say any given player has to play the ball whilst the game is in open play.

If Grays lose it will be morally wrong. The problem is The FA cannot go against the Law of the Land. This is what needs to be looked at and anything that brings attention to this is worthwhile.

From what I've read Grays do not want to pay this convicted robber on the grounds of old-fashioned morality. He was involved in a conspiracy to rob a guy in June 2005 - in the course of the robbery the victim was killed. He joined Grays in June 2006 and according to a BBC report told Grays that he was on remand for motoring offences. He was convicted of conspiracy in December 2006 and sentenced in April 2007 to 8 years.

The FA have ordered Grays to pay the robber 5 months wages of £10K. If Grays refuse the FA say they will suspend Grays.

I would have thought Grays have a very good case for not paying him anything on the grounds that he did not disclose the full SP to Grays from the start plus he has brought Grays and football into disrepute,
