We were poor today. Missing Saunders in the middle. SCS had a shocker and was tactically subbed. Trotty didn't look at him as he came off. Didn't call and got stranded and lobbed for the first goal. Just stood there and got lobbed for the second. Urchins missed chances- it could have been 5-0. Poor against a good side.

Come back Dean-all is forgiven !!

Having said that, surely Morris could have given a good performance in middle of park,

Not there, so do not know the formation played, but why did we have on paper a 5 man defence.

After a couple of wins, surprised RT changed things around.

Ok -Jay was out for whatever reason, but why not a straightforward swap morris for jay-keep the same formation,

Surely my'conspiracy theory' re: last years effort to snatch 6th from the jaws of the title is not happening all over again.

AS i last posted a few months ago-do MFC actually want promotion ? (and indeed do us supporters ?)

Is the infrastructure there ?

With all the kent clubs likely to be in the Ryman/ aka 'Kent league' next season the club would undoubtedly be better off financially to stay in the current league !! Maybe Wimbledon and their away following will also still be in the league next season !!

Team was

SCS

Peters Smith Trott Joseph

Martin Young McKimm Jackson

Pinnock Side

Subs:

Krunic (U16s keeper - Bowles was playing for the Reserves and Lamprell, who I rate, had work committments)

Goodfellow

Morris

Corbishley

Haworth (on for Trott at h/t with Young reverting to centre back, and 3 up front)

A dire performance all across the park. SCS was terrible. Positioning for the two goals was very poor, getting lobbed both times, and his kicking once again was shocking. His kicking alone makes me question him, because he is consistently so bad at it. If I was Trotty I would give Matt Lamprell the reserve team keeper a chance. Because barring a miracle, we won't make the play-offs, on this performance today.

1st half can be summed up by - route 1 to two small strikers, and Young looking like a fish out of water in the midfield when Morris would surely have been a better option.

2nd half we lacked ideas as Hornchurch grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck. We just didn't get into the game. System changed to 3-4-3 when Peters, who just previously had been clattered by SCS as they both went for the same ball, was replaced by Corbishley. Peters appeared to be ok though. To his credit Roberto tried hard, but the general malaise of the team meant that there was no improvement in performance. SCS subbed off with about 15 minutes to play, and he was disappointed, but he must have known he had a shocker.

A very poor showing considering there was so much at stake.

Generally agree Paul but Alex doubted effort. I disagree as this year i think there is tons more effort including today.

WE had to get on top early on when we had a chance. We did not. Once they scored we took time to regroup.

We huffed and puffed but did not make their goalie make more than one meaningful save.

HOWEVER- I WAS DISGUSTED WITH A SMALL PERCENTAGE OF PEOPLE WHO GAVE SCS STICK WHEN HE CAME OFF.

EVERYONE HAS A BAD DAY. THIS WAS HIS. DO YOU REALLY WANT A 16 YEAR OLD IN GOAL AT SOUTHWOOD???

Another bad day there, reminisant of 2005.
