The FA's Sanctions and Registrations committee (formerly League Sanctions Committee) met this week on the 14th April and rejected the Nationwide Conference's request to expand their membership from 22 clubs to 24 clubs for season 2003/04........

 

The Nationwide Conference's request was referred to The FA's Sanctions and Registrations committee who sought the views of the 3 Feeder Leagues - The Ryman Isthmian League, The Dr Martens Southern League and UniBond Northern Premier League.

 

Following written submissions to The Football Association from the 3 Feeder Leagues, the Nationwide Conference's request was this week debated at the FA Sanctions and Registrations committee, and the decision of the committee was to reject the Nationwide Conference's request to expand their membership for season 2003/04.

 

The decision of The FA Sanctions and Registrations Committee is subject to ratification by The FA Council on 21st June 2003.

Dave, did you not forget the small print:

 

"The FA reserves the right to switch its decision at the end of season 2003-04 depending on Stevenage Borough's league position. Their recent form having propelled them up the table, the FA considers it neither right, proper nor necessary to cheat and change the rules for at least another 12 months."
