No, I design buildings to pay the bills and dig holes for fun. I've been studying archaeology part time for years now, at Birkbeck College London and now at Oxford. I have the grand title of site supervisor at Gordons Lodge, under (!) a Director and his co-director.

 

BTW I am the devillishly good looking one in the tatty black jumper and combats.

 

Tents are great fun except for slugs, but pellets soon sort them out. We sit around in our new (well new to us) portacabin drinking in the evenings, or sit round a bonfire with a can of fizzy pop or something. I suspect some volunteers only come back every year for the laugh! But we are serious during the day...

 

You have the right plan for your holiday, except there's not enough drinking!
