Red shirts win more matches!

The business about red being a highly-visible colour has been long accepted. It does appear to be easier to pick out a team-mate in a red shirt than in, say, a grey or white one (England players have said this; I think it's in Bobby Charlton's recent autobiography).

The high-visibility aspect was one of the main factors in the British Army abandoning their Redcoats uniform.

Or us last night.

I read about this on the train this morning and did think it was a bit of 'too much time and not enough news'

Apparently, yellow is the worst colour. You know where you can stick that.

Is the Bobby Charlton book any good Derryman? Got it for xmas but have not picked it up in anger yet.

It worked for my hometown team, Derry City. When they came into senior footy in the late 1920s they wore Wolves-style Old Gold jerseys. Then they got an ex-Sheffield Utd player as manager (Sheff Utd were quite famous and 'successful' at the time) and he changed the team colours to red and white stripes with black shorts. There was an immediate change of fortune on the pitch.

Of course, I'm not superstitious. We Leos aren't ... oops ! smile
