Spot on JC. I was saying that last night.

I sometimes get the urge to leave even before the kick-off when I see we're kicking the wrong way.

You know deep in your bones that there'll be no point in staying because we'll lose.

Watch Fleet get to final. Hoipefully without extra time or penalties.
Drive home, get changed, go to work fot another 12 hours.
But I'm gonna do it.

It is a shame you cannot see me right now, Gary. I am currently playing the world's smallest violin for you. 1...2...3... awwwwwwww

You should consider it an honour, a pleasure, enjoyment, that after a hard day's graft you are rewarded with the opportunity to watch the Fleet !! Isn't that what work is all about ? To look forward to, and enjoy, your spare time........until the Government tax enjoyment to death !!

Cheers,

Err! as are most other teams in this league?

Yes but I wouldn't expect any team to be winning every game when there are two a week. Besides, we are still in two cup competitions.

If your not a season ticket holder. Two games a week, for some that are on the min wage etc?
I would say find it very hard to find the money. I believe some fans are picking out what they think are the better games to watch, rather than attending every game.

Surely buying a season ticket would have helped, especially if you had bought it prior to 1 April last year ( if I recall correctly ) it was at the previous season's price. Significant savings, and you get into see the Pre Season Friendlies for nothing. Just a thought.

Cheers,

I understand your thoughts , but for low income people they may not have two hundred odd pound laying around let alone, to spend on a football season ticket, more likely pay a bill or have a short break in that position.
I don't buy a season tickets as I know through commitments i will miss 6 games a year, along with my girlfriend, as I would be paying for her ticket to, thats £26 a game for me, £156 is a lot of money to waste.not sure if it cost me more in the long run, paying at the gate over the year, more than likely.

EEERrrrr thats some of the other teams, not all! That why we have 3 games in hand on some Doh! and what they are doing is not my problem, or any other fleet supporters, I would have thought. Or does it make it cheaper for Fleet supporters that some of them have to do it to ???

Fair point Busta. I am not sure what the answer is.....however,

maybe once we know who is on the MyFC board, then you could submit your thoughts to them ( if they haven't read them here ).

Some of the local supporters are standing so it would be worth a try.

Cheers,

___________

Just a quick correction, our players are as much journeymen as any others in this division. As it happens 5 of those came originally through our youth set up (Kelly, Burgess, Shaw, Tomlin & Challinor). Considering we nearly went bust last year we had to make severe cost cuts in player wages and we're now operating at the same level everyone else is on in the BSP (lower in some cases). Your side got beat cos it didn't match ours on the night, it happens.
Good luck in the semi-final.

I'm not a great fan of your manager, I have to admit, and on his past record assumed he wouldn't manage anywhere where he wasn't being handsomely rewarded & didn't have plenty of money to throw around.

We didn't match you on the night - you are absolutely right there.

Is the Challinor a different guy to the dangerous player who was at Exeter for several seasons, then? Or did he start off in your youth set up when you were a league club & has now returned from the south west?

Thanks for the good luck message.

It's the same Challinor who started in our youth set up under Talbot, then moved on as he wasn't getting a game. He came back this season from Exeter as he wanted to be nearer his home and wife in Peterborough. We recently turned down an approach from Torquay for him. We've started using him as a striker and he's found his goalscoring boots, that's 7 goals in the last 5 games !!

As for Hill, he's being well handled by our Chairman who's a friend of his brother at Peterborough Utd.

Thats true enough and your third goal was almost worth standing out in the cold for.

The two advantages of a 546 crowd are that there was no queue at the tea hut plus apart from the 16 Diamonds fans I recognised 528 of the fans......C.G. if that was you standing with Hirsty then it is 529.
