Pathetic

Recommended Posts

Just about the only word for tonights effort - I could use a few ruder words, but I'll refrain - a pathetic performance(or non performance would perhaps be a better description), pathetic result & downright pathetic attendance (thankfully in the circumstances). Do we actually deserve to be in play off contention (and thanks to Grays holding Burton to a draw tonight, we still are in contention - win 2 games in hand and we would only be 3 points outside the play offs)after such a performance and with crowds of 546 when we were unbeaten at home since Dec 8th when we lost to York - at least last weeks 670 had the excuse of Champions League on TV and awful bitter weather - this week had neither excuse (although Liverpool were on Sky, I believe).

Oh well, I guess we were due a performance like tonight particularly with the important Trophy semi second leg large in players minds.

have to agree, no pasion, no commitment, no real interest shown from anyone, quite how we has the audacity to actually name a man of the match was laughable....... and if Ronnie Bull plays another game for us it will be one to many......... sorry but he is not even kent league standard

Toi be honest, it wasn't unexpected. Players weren't hurling themselves into challenges who would normally. Long, Hawkins and McPhee for exaple. Can't blame them really. What was disappointing was that those fring players coming in played so poorly.

What it does prove is that we have 13 or 14 good conference standard players, and possibly 4 or 5 who need to improve.

A woeful night, only improved by the news that Gillingham lost yet again.

Thank God only 500 odd bothered to watch our total capitulation to Gary Hill's bunch of overpaid journeymen.

We were spineless, clueless, goalless and utterly spiritless.

At least it will stop people chatting nonsense about us making the playoffs.

The FA Trophy was & still is on, of course. On Saturday, I was so filled with enthusiasm. Now? I am kicking myself for buying 3 match tickets & a hotel stay in advance. We might go through, but at the moment I feel like I don't care. I hate it when my team rolls over without a fight & at present I couldn't give a sh*t what happens this weekend.

Yes, it was a woeful performance but compare it to all the fantastic performances they have produced in recent weeks. To lose 0-3 was an added blow but you can't expect the team to win every game especially now they are playing twice a week from now on. It's not as if they had much support tonight either.

Think about where we are going on Saturday and the advantage we have and what it could mean for our team. To say you "couldn't give a s**t" what happens this weekend because of one bad performance is probably more pathetic.

I must agree that was brilliant.

Have to go with the general sentiment on here tonight. Such a downer after the high of the weekend.

Am just hoping that this is the scare that the team (and the crowd) needed to make sure that we get through on Saturday.

It felt like a night in the BHL against Purfleet but worse.

My worry is that the embarrassing result tonight will make the players more apprehensive about Saturday's game. If they play not to lose, they surely will. I hope Liam reminds them (and I've no doubt he will) that what got them the 2-goal lead was aggressive play, not sitting back in the hopes of avoiding mistakes.

Tough loss, but it's done now. All the best for Saturday; wish I could be there to add one more voice.

I seriously thought the Fleet would have been taking a serious tilt at the play-offs. Whilst you have been winning for fun, Stevenage and Torquay are going backwards. Most of the teams in the play-offs positions have to play each other several times as well and we've been looking over our shoulder at you.

I can't understand why only 546 turned out for a team in such good form and after beating the leaders on Saturday. You've a great team and in Stacey Long you have a player we would love to have.

I've been a sceptic of the MyFc from day one, but if they got more people to games I would change my view. It looks like the opposite effect, looks like none of them are turning up and a lot of the regulars have been alienated. Will they all pay their £35 next season or will you be f*cked?

And before they come on here saying how difficult it is to get to games being so far away, I went to watch my team at York last night, got back to Kent at 3.15am. If just 1% of the "fanbase" could do the same and get down to Stonebridge Rd, it would mean a lot more than a £35 donation and a few postings on a forum.

We got to the play-off final last year and 30,000 came, but come start of the season it was the usual 3,000 at home and 250 away. I'm sure if you get to Wembley you'll get 20,000+, but guaranteed it'll be the same 500 die-hards back next season.

One word of advice, if you get to Wembley, make sure all your regular support get tickets in the same block, otherwise it will be a [****!!****] atmosphere. No offence intended to Brian from Tibet & Dan from Timbucktoo...

Good luck on Saturday.

If things ( god forbid ) do go pear shaped on saturday, was last night an indication as to what to expect for the rest of the season ? Would we rather win a one off cup or have a chance of playing in the football league....?

Another prformance like that and we can only expect 500 or so to turn up each week
