Bridgewater next Saturday

Recommended Posts

After the pi$$ poor performance of today I wont be bothering wasting my hard earned money on the expence of traveling all the way to Bridgewater on the extream off chance that the Slough team might actually put in a decent performance.

I do see this being one of our lowest turnouts as quiet a number behind the goal also had reservations about making the trip.

For those of you who do go - well done and I admire your patience.

Reading Rebel - have you been to EVERY game this season?

Well of the 39 games this year so far I have been to 33 of them and considering I was out of the country for 4 of the games that means I have attended 33 out of 35 that I was able to get to - or over 94% of the games!

When we had a reserve team I used to attend most of the capital leauge games as well.

So if I dont wish to travel to Bridgewater I am prity sure my attendance figures will hold up very well to the rest of the fan base!

The dilema I have is that if I dont go and we win or even draw I know I will be gutted to miss one of the few games we have picked up points.

However the thought of traveling 250-300 miles round trip, to see us play as bad as yesterday and let in a bag full of goals, falls into the second of Warrens descriptions of "utter stupidity".

When driving home it can be satisfying to know that you have picked up points, or even played well but still come second, but this season the times when neither of those can be said has been too many and it gets to all of us.

There were some very negative things said by those in the stand second half about how the game had gone - however once the Slough goal went in there was a lot more vocal support and even a thought that a come back may be possible.

The thing that I belive is getting to people is that it is possible that if we go down the likes of Windsor and Burnham will be a level above us or even if they get into and through the playoffs they may be 2 levels above us. Even our landlords may be above us!!!

But we must remember "matters on the pitch this season dont matter".

Warren- stupid is good enough ...

well impressed with young rubin and liam ..a delight to take them onto the pitch with the team yesterday ..hope the pictures will be ok ..gary sorting them out for the boy's ...its all about things like this that are important too...

as for the performance yesterday ..thats just another story..and the club had an emergency meeting after the match with the football management and hopefully things have been aired...and we move onto Saturday ..with every thing still to do...its still in our hands and consistancy now will see either Andover - Slough and Bracknell through ...lets ensure its us...

everything said yesterday was well deserved ...no question about it...but Saturday is another match and so so important...

cheers chris s

thats exactly the point i was making, people go when they can go,but i think it is wrong just because some people through whether it is disappointment and frustration say i dont think ill go then to be told they are not a true supporter, just because you ask questions like is it worth it doesnt make you a less supporter and people come and go .the idea that there are some supporters who will support slough without question is debateable, we all have our breaking point. yesterday i came away angry, depressed, disappointed and much more will i be back, yes. I do feel for those fans who travel a great distance their disappointment must be great.but i take my hat off to them for sticking with it.In fact all supporters who chose to stick with the club.whether you have been to a few games or every game your still a supporter in my book. Reading rebel if you dont want to say for what ever reason fair enough, but i think its a bit unfair to question other peoples loyalty. if slough town did an Eton wick(and no disrespect to them) are you going to be travelling from reading to watch the team in the hellenic league div one east, or maybe just maybe you might goand watch someone else.

Well the more games I go to, the more income for the club there is, and the more vocal support the team gets on the pitch.

If people are not present at games then how can they encourage the team and get to see the true issues on the pitch.

If you want to make a difference dont sit on your [****!!****], turn up to as many games as possible as the players have always said that when the crowd gets behind them they play better. It is the same old few who stand behind the goal and shout for the team whilst others have driffted off!

i haven't been to as many games this season due to a myriad of personal issues, but the games I've been to bar one have been of the 'absolute drizzling [****!!****]' variety, and most of the ones I've missed seem to have been of the 'absolute drizzling [****!!****]' variety as well. However, as I'm going to be taking off for a trip to the United States about halfway through the first half on Saturday, it can be taken as a given I won't be there

Can we please not start questioning peoples commitment. We're struggling enough for crowds as it is.

I may not be able to make Bridgwater either, though I want to go and will make every effort to. It's a long way to go and I can understand not going.

I remember last season going to Chelmsford two days before Christmas, knowing we were going to get spanked (and we did). We only took about 30 and it was bloody freezing, but I seem to recall having a good laugh.

There are still games remaining and we can still get out of trouble. We need to hang on until the bitter end like last season.

AR, your right it probably is unfair to question peoples loyalty after p#ss poor performances because most post match comments are said out of anger and frustration.

In answer to your questions - 27 games and yes I would carry on travelling and watching if we were relegated to the Hellenic leagues.
