I wasn't far behind Harry J in the w*nk*red stakes myself, been on the Frosty Jack from 10.30am celebrating my 50th (which is today, by the way!) remember hugging the Millwall boys and anyone else who was available, went to gawd knows how many boozers, ended up in the Red Lion and all memory of anything ended around 10.00pm. woke up on sofa at 5.00am, half eaten kebab and bottle of Bishops Tipple on the table and memories of the best football day since we won the Ryman. Quality, what a day. Please, lads, don't f**k it up next week. Wemberlee, Wemberlee.......!!!!

It's all down to the metabolic rate of the body & how quickly the alcohol is absorbed through the walls of the stomach. You had an empty stomach bad news; you were also drinking very early in the day - the body doesn't process the alcohol so effectively then.

Worst sin of all, though, Harry, you drank what in The Coopers? John Smiths is the vilest concoction ever unleashed on the gullible British public. I pre-ordered one for my father in law the other week, then he decided he wouldn't race to the bar at half time. Waste not want not I thought & went to down it after finishing my own Spitfire. How I didn't spit it all over the Good Wife is beyond me. Do people really voluntarily drink stuff that tastes like creamy toilet cleaner?

I hope you can remember more details of that fantastic game than your "activities" afterwards.
