Ive taken the time to think about yesterday instead of ranting straight away, but its very hard after the obvious selection problems yesterday.

Gumbs should have started, no question, its fair enough to start with one new forward, but two is crazy. The number 10 didn't look very good and how he earned a starting place ahead of Gumbs I have no idea. Marney looked ok, seemed to be one of the only people who wanted the ball out there, and a very lucky debut goal too!

Agree with what was said above, Gray should be playing the attacking football down the left, with Rendell overlapping from behind, but we seemed to have it the other way round. Tom Attrell can also play in that left, maybe he should be given a go in place of Gray, but theyre both good attacking left sided players.

Barratt should also really have started, but he has a huge mouth on him which could be keeping him out of the team, he spent most of last week's match mouthing off particularly at Daly.

Overall very poor against another team who weren't exactly great. We desperately need to get something next week now.

With regards to chopping and changing players, yes we should trust them in my opinion and give them a chance to redeem themselves for previous performances, but these players have been in-and-out all season, so why not bring in players he fully trusts?? If there attitiude is not right - get rid!!

Also I don't totally agree with the 'well we have not got the money so we can't bring in these players' Do we have no contacts at league clubs for loan players? Two season ago we brought in Clark Masters and Charlie Ide on loan which helped us stay in the Ryman Prem., AFC Hayes have the top scorer in this league - he can't be on a lot? Roy knows Terry Brown well at AFC Wimbledon, can we get nobdoy from there in on loan?

Also with regards to Tom Attrell, I feel sorry for him. I fully understand Betts not wanting to throw him in at this stage in a relegation battle but I think he does have a big future but is not ready yet, such a shame we don't have a reserve team as putting players like him and Mugisha in at that level for a season then bringing them through would be great for them and us.

Mal - he's already seen Red this season.

OK that would explain an extra game but what about the other three.

Did he hit someone or was it just verbal?

If it is just verbal then it will be a total of 2 games but violent conduct will be a total of 4 (including the extra game).

Im a fan of Mark Betts becasue when most coaches would have run away from Slough He took the chance to test Himself which I admire greatly. Only point which has been raised on here is His team selection. I personally think the best players play which isnt the case at minute. Lineup Saturday was strange for many reasons, just felt the team had two many changes and players picked are not right at this crucial stage at season. Brian Connor at right back is a no no, Robinson for Me because its His natural posistion, Harper and then Connor can then form a decent partnership together with Rendell at Left back not Grey. Bettsy does get this the wrong way around!! Midefield wasnt right on Saturday, there was no creativity no tempo set and simply was out of balance. I like Brown and Meddie but not together, they both stop play well but then give back to team for them to win it back and then give back scenario. And dont get me going on Abby, Hampton and Richmond!!! joke. Front Pairing was wrong, never been tested or played together and it showed. The big lad hasnt got it, touch or pace and Marney tried hard but has got the instinct We need. God knows what Bettsy has against Barratt as the lad has the ability and when playing can be a match winner, and winning matches is what We want. Need Terry and Daly back for Bridgwater, please dont get on Bettsys back I personally think He will come good, just maybe in experience is showing at this crucial time but Im sure Hes learning, fast!!

Completely agree with all the above. A very poor performance.

Only 2 or 3 were less poor than the others.

For the first goal, once the wall vanished, our keeper didn't stand a chance of saving it, you can see the parting of the wall in my photos.

I think one of the problems we have is that we very quickly revert back to long balls and "panic" passing. Both of which just gives the ball straight back to the oppo.

That is a problem that can be seen in all teams at whatever level they play at. How often do you see a good footballing team that's bossing the game, go one nil down, and start hoofing it to get the equaliser. That's when even a simple pass won't go to a team mate.

We (fans and staff) need to get some confidence back into the players. If you chat with them, remind them of the good performances.

I think we can still do it, as long as the players believe they can do it. We beat Fleet, so why not the 8 games to come. (well, some of them, anyway)

You must never let STFC get relegated from the league they are in right now. There is a way back from this league but any lower will prove really tough. STFC is a huge non league club and deserves along with its fans of being at least at the right end of this current division. I wish everyone well and really hope STFC do not get relegated this term .

Then in the summer we need a Manager who can take us away from the bottom of the table and steer us to better things

The backpass against Taunton on the opening day of the season is a forgiveable offence. It cost us a point but these things happen in football.

Verbally abusing a referee at the end of a game and getting yourself a red card and 4 match ban is the action of a complete prat and has sent Harper down in my estimations. Yes it shows he cares, but there was no legitimate complaint to be had. Paulton played offside with the free-kick well and it was pretty obvious he was off-side. The ref had been balanced throughout and clearly wasn't prepared to tolerate verbals (booking a couple of Paulton players) and the performance of the team deserved nothing more than defeat.

Frustrated or not, it was plain daft and will be very costly

totaly agree with that, i am as big a critic of refs as anybody but i thought he was quite balanced and in control, couldnt understand the ear bashing he got from fans at the end. from where i was standing the sending off looked like a yellow not a red but thats the nature of the game, and in actual fact it made little difference, on the day they could of had another sent off and still would have won.Players with talent without discipline are liabilities and should be despatched as soon as possible.
